Li Anmin Institute of Economic Research, Liaoning University, was established in December 2017. It is a high-level research institute founded by Liaoning University to adapt to the development plan of universities under the new situation and build a world-class economic discipline. At the same time, in order to thank Dr. Anmin Li, a well-known alumnus of Liaoning University, for his support for and concern about the development of our university, the institute was officially named as Li Anmin Institute of Economic Research, Liaoning University on January 9, 2020.
The institute focuses on providing an international research platform, recruiting outstanding economic and financial talents globally, and building a research team that holds an international perspective and solves domestic problems innovatively. Simultaneously, the institute adheres to the school motto of “Noble in Morality, Extensive in Learning, Tenacious in Action, and Independent in Spirit” of Liaoning University, based on the economic development needs of Liaoning and Northeast China, with a view to making significant contributions to the revitalization and development of Northeast China.
Li Anmin Institute of Economic Research, Liaoning University, has received strong support from the school university since its establishment. The Dean of this institute is currently served by Prof. Yao Shujie. The university leaders fully considered the needs of the institute and provided strong support for the development of the institute. Meanwhile, the School of International Economics and International Relations, School of Economics, and other related departments have provided tremendous help and support to the development of the institute with their deep academic accumulation, and explored a development model that incorporate each other's advantages and shares resources.
At present, the Institute has more than 20 economists from globe, which is a very energetic research team. In the future, the institute will expand to 30-50 people. The Institute will surely become a symbol of Liaoning University to build world-class disciplines.
