Light Industry College was set up in 2004, whose predecessor is the Liaoning light industry school founded in 1978, incorporated into Liaoning University as higher career technical college in 1999. The college of light industry consists of three departments, namely department of inorganic nonmetallic materials engineering, food science and engineering and electrical engineering and automation. The college has three undergraduate programs, which are inorganic nonmetallic materials engineering, food science and engineering and electrical engineering and automation, and a food engineering master degree program. The college has 75 employees, including 5 professors and 20 associate professors. Scientific research has developed rapidly from the beginning and gratifying achievements have been made. The college won 3 state level scientific research projects, 5 provincial level projects and a provincial engineering center.
