College of Communication, Liaoning University, founded in 1997, was co-established by Liaoning University and Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Broadcasting and Television (now known as Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Press Publishing Broadcasting and Television) on the basis of Broadcasting and Television Department of Liaoning University which was founded in 1994.

      The college has the First Level Disciplines authorized to offer master degrees in Drama and Film and Television Studies and professional degrees in Master of Fine Arts（in the field of broadcasting and television. The college has 3 undergraduate programs in Broadcasting and Television Playwright-director, the Art of Announcing and Anchoring, and Photography.

      Modern Communication Arts and Technology Experimental Center of the college is the Undergraduate Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Institutions of Higher Education of Liaoning Province. The college also has scientific research platforms such as  Liaoning Cultural Industry and Creativity Research Base, Liaoning Television Play Research Center, Social and Cultural Development Research Center of Liaoning Province.

      The college has 55 faculty members and nearly a thousand undergraduates. More than 5000 graduates have graduated from the college, working in the broadcasting and television stations at the central governmental levels, provincial levels and city levels. In recent years, our faculties, undergraduates and graduates are achieving important achievements, receiving international academic recognition.

      To enhance brand construction, the college hosts featured activities like New Dimension Video Festivals, Recitations, Graduation Shows, and Academic Salons. The college has jointly set up bases for overseas studies with Dhurakij Pundit University of Thailand, and Phoenix Satellite Television, US. The college has an credit exchange system with Shih Hsin University, Chinese Culture University, Chaoyang University of Technology and other Taiwan Universities. The college has established innovation platforms such as New Dimension Film Studio, New Ideas Creative Writing Studio, New Image Performance Management Studio.
