Presently, School of Environment has a powerful, and full of vitality and spirit of innovation corps of teachers. It has 54 full-time faculty members and eight doctoral supervisors (including part-time). In addition, the School has employed more than 20 well-known scholars for the part-time professors at home and abroad. The school is also authorized to award environmental engineering professional postgraduate program by 2010, Key Discipline of Liaoning Provincial College：Resource and Environmental Science graduate Training Base, also one of the supporting institution which is authorized to award Population, resources and environment PhD degree in economics in Liaoning University.

School of Environmental Sciences has established a wide range of academic exchanges and cooperation with united states, Australia， Germany, Belgium, Japanese and national scientific research institutions, colleges, and environmental protective administration departments, i.e.

In recent years, the School has undertaken more than 30 research projects funded by central government and ministries, i.e. national natural science fund, sub-item of the country's project 973, innovation fund projects of ministry of science and technology, national science and technology to support projects, Chinese academy of sciences. Since the creation of Environment Science discipline, over 30 years, the School of teaching and research personnel has made a large number of high level of research results in Environmental biology, Environmental chemistry, Ecological pollution, ecological toxicology, ecology and water pollution control, and has published papers more than 350 in the domestic and international journals and 18 scholarship, and have been repeatedly awarded research rewards by the state, ministry, province and city. For the state, especially Liaoning province, School of environmental sciences has made a large contribution to social economy and ecological environment of sustainable development.
