As is issued by the Chinese Academy of Sciences recently, Associate Professor Cai Xiaowu of Liaoning University is Selected as “100 Talent Program” Technician of 2016. Prof. Cai is the first young teacher to be selected in the Program.
The “100 Talent Program” of Chinese Academy of Sciences is a program launched in 1994 aimed at bringing in and incubating academic talents with a high standard. The program subsidizes and appeals to excellent academic leaders from home and abroad with a fund of 2,000,000 RMB per capita. Through over two decades, the “100 Talent Program” has assembled numerous outstanding academic personnels, which include thousands of excellent young overseas scholars. In 2015 Chinese Academy of Sciences launched the new “100 Talent Program” in the 13th Five Year Plan, which includes 3 projects named as “academic leaders”, “technical talents” and “young scholars”. The new Program has adjusted itself to bring in outstanding scholars of various types and different levels instead of merely appealing to overseas scholars.
Prof. Cai Xiaowu is currently working on researches in semiconductor devices, semiconductor technology, design of integrated circuit ESD protection and analog integrated circuit design. He hosted a national natural science youth fund project, a campus youth fund project, applied and authorized 7 patents in the US, 20 patents in China, and published over 20 papers in SCI, EI and other core journals.
