In the afternoon of June 21, the seminar “College Students’ IQ & EQ” was held at the academic hall in the Library of Chongshan Campus. The speaker, Professor DOU Shenggong, is from the School of Business Administration of Northeastern University.
Prof. DOU Shenggong pointed out that IQ was the premise for college students’ development, while EQ was also an essential factor for their growing up. So higher education should focus on both students’ intelligence and emotional intelligence when developing their general quality. College students should find a positive way of thinking, work and study diligently, and strengthen their self-management of emotions. They should also learn to be self-controlled, self-balanced, and considerate enough while sticking to their own guns, so as to live a happy life with a peaceful mind. Prof. DOU encouraged students to read more books, only by which could they enhance their competitiveness.
