After expert review, public announcement and an approval from the National Leading Group for Philosophy and Social Sciences, LNU has won National Social Science Fund on four major projects in 2018, tied for the 19th nationwide and ranking the 4th among world’s first-rate discipline construction universities and the first place in Liaoning Province. The four approved major projects of the National Social Science Fund are Research on the Construction of the Discipline System of Standard Economics with Chinese Characteristics and the Promotion of High-quality Development of China's Economy (Item No.18ZDA036) lead by the Chief Expert Prof. Xie Di of the School of Economics; Research on Rural Governance and Social Order in Ancient China (Item No.18ZDA171) lead by Prof. Geng Yuanli of the School of History; Collection, Collation and Research of Environmental History Data in Northeast China (Item No.18ZDA174) lead by the chief expert Prof. Teng Haijian of the School of History; Compilation and Study of Religious Dialogue Materials from the Perspective of Islam (Item No.18ZDA234) lead by the chief expert Prof. Li Yanzhi of the School of History.

Four major projects approved by the National Social Science Fund has made this year the most abundant year of our university over the years, which achieves two historic breakthroughs in the number of major projects approved by the National Social Science Fund and the total amount of funding since the foundation of Liaoning University. Up to now, our school has altogether obtained 21 key projects of National Social Science Fund and major research projects of Philosophy and Social Science of the Ministry of Education.
