On November 17, 2023, the final of the 6th Liaoning Provincial Undergraduate Integrated Media Host Competition took place in Dalian. Gao Qiong, a 22-year-old student majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting Arts at the School of Broadcast, Film and Television at Liaoning University, won the overall championship of the competition. Also, Tian Shibo, Zhang Yaochun, and Lan Zhenglin from the school won first prizes.

 The competition lasted two months with 162 works getting into the second round after selection from 388 preliminary works from 26 universities in the province. In total, 20 contestants from nine universities reached the finals. The finals were divided into three parts: dynamic anchor news hosting, a perfect union hosting, and impromptu speeches with themed props. During more than three hours of intense competition, contestants from the School of Broadcast, Film and Television at LNU achieved consistently excellent results. Professor Zeng Zhihua from Communication University of China and Professor Gao Guiwu from Renmin University of China both spoke highly of contestants from LNU.

The Broadcasting and Hosting Art major of the School of Broadcast, Film and Television at LNU was awarded national first-class undergraduate major development site status in 2021. In recent years, the school has striven towards higher and stronger levels of achievement, cultivating students' practical and innovative abilities along the way. Participating in various professional competitions has helped drive teaching and the majors’ development, allowing students to grow and progress in practice.
