LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing) and the Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area Hold Closed-door Seminar on ‘Going Global’ for New Energy Vehicles

On January 22, 2024, the LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing) and the Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area jointly held a closed-door seminar on ‘Going Global’ for new energy vehicles. The conference was divided into two sections, which were held at LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing) and the Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area.

The conference was chaired by Zhao Lei, Director of the Training Center at the China Institute for Business Development (Beijing). Participants in the conference included Shu Hongping, Vice President of Chengdu University of Information Technology, Faizulhuseinov Nematullo, Director of Dipservice Trade and Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Zhou Liqun, Secretary of the Party Branch of Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, Leng Yanbing, Group Leader at Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, Li Lezhong, Director of the Science and Technology Department at Chengdu University of Information Technology, Zhu Can, Chairman of Newo Holdings Group Co., Ltd. and Newo Fund Management Co., Ltd., Yao Le, Founder and Dean of CIO Times, Zhan Jingjing, Deputy Secretary-General of China Automotive Engineering Society, Zhang Aihui, Director of the Intelligence Center at Shandong Industrial Research Institute, Zhejiang University, Pan Mian, Marketing Director of Eurometal Industrial Products Co., Ltd., and Izaturo from Tajikistan Mining Development Co. Ltd. (online). 

Yu Miaojie, a deputy of National People's Congress, member of the 14th Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Liaoning Province, deputy secretary of the CPC Committee and president of LNU, sent a congratulatory letter. He warmly welcomed the participants and highlighted the significant advancements the university has achieved in recent years in disciplines, faculty recruitment, talent cultivation, platform construction, social influence, and international cooperation. Additionally, he introduced the development and future goals of the LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing), expressing the hope that the attending guests would continue to support and assist in the development of the institute.

Xing Yuanyuan, Deputy Dean in charge of daily operations at the LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing), along with doctoral candidate Li Yanfeng, delivered a themed presentation titled ‘Expanding Opportunities and Challenges for New Energy Vehicle Enterprises: The SCO Countries’.  Faizulhuseinov Nematullo and Izaturo discussed the business environment, trade, and investment policies in Tajikistan, as well as distinctive investment projects and the current state and prospects of the new energy vehicle market. Zhan Jingjing, Zhu Can, Yao Le, Leng Yanbing, Zhang Aihui, and Pan Mian provided insightful comments in response.

The attending guests visited and held discussions at the Beijing Liaison Center for China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area. In his speech, Zhou Liqun, the party branch secretary of the Liaison Center, addressed the audience, while Leng Yanbing, the group leader, introduced the functions and positioning of the SCO Local Economic and Trade Demonstration Zone. The guests listened to thematic presentations on the development process, construction, core advantages, and future development direction of the SCO Local Economic and Trade Demonstration Zone at the exhibition hall. Subsequently, lively discussions were held on topics related to the global expansion of new energy vehicles and the construction of the Tajikistan Pavilion, also known as the ‘Pearl of the SCO’.


 The seminar fully demonstrated the role of the LNU & CAITEC China Business Development Institute (Beijing) as a bridge and link to enhance the academic and social influence of the university. In line with the principles of being concise, focused, and problem-oriented, the seminar addressed the challenges and obstacles in China's economic and trade investment with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries. It brought together senior professionals from various fields including local governments, industries, academia, research institutions, finance, and services. Taking the SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area and the Tajikistan market as real scenarios, the seminar engaged in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative research on issues related to exporting new energy and outbound investment. It gathered multiple forces, achieved research consensus, and established cooperation intentions, laying the foundation for subsequent academic conferences, project applications, and professional training. It provided academic support to help the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area serve as a public goods provider and contributed wisdom and collective efforts in promoting the global expansion of China's new energy vehicles.
