National Security Knowledge Competition for College Students Successfully Held at LNU

2024 is the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposal of the overall concept of national security. With the ninth National Security Education Day on April 15 in mind, Liaoning University organized a national security knowledge competition for students with the theme of ‘Ten years of innovation and leadership in overall national security’. It was organized to help implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on strengthening national security education, to promote the extensive and in-depth publicity and popularization of national security knowledge, and to guide students to actively practice the overall concept of national security, as well as to enhance their awareness of national security and literacy.



On April 14, the final of the first National Security Knowledge Competition for College Students at Liaoning University was held in the Jonathan KS Choi Hall of Puhe Campus Office Building. Six participating teams gathered at the competition venue. The final was  intense, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. Each participating team showcased their strengths and talents on the stage with great resolve and a solid understanding of national security issues. The contestants presented a wonderful and diverse range of national security knowledge to the student audience throughout the competition. In the end, the Law School won the first prize of the group award, while the School of Economics and the Asia-Australia Business College won the second prize. The Faculty of Information Science, the College of Foreign Languages (Wusheng Campus) and the Light Industry College won the third place.



This competition covered three campuses: Puhe, Chongshan, and Wusheng. All students in the university participated and actively prepared for the competition. In the preliminary stage, 140 contestants from 28 student units were full of energy with no one left behind. After six rounds of on-site competition, six teams advanced to the finals.

The activity gave students a competitive platform to show their style and knowledge. Through the well-organized overall arrangement of preparation, preliminaries, finals, and other stages, the passion and enthusiasm of all teachers and students in the university to gain national security knowledge was stimulated. Also, by promoting practice and learning through competitions, LNU aims to encourage more students to consciously enhance their awareness and literacy of national security, as well as effectively create a strong atmosphere of national security where everyone participates and takes responsibility on university campuses.
