On May 17, the 10th Seminar of the 60-Member Forum on Chinese School of Economics and Management and the Spring Seminar in 2024 was successfully held at the Office Building of Puhe Campus of Liaoning University. The conference was sponsored by the Chinese School of Economics and Management, organized by the Faculty of Economics of Liaoning University and co-organized by the Advanced Manufacturing Committee of China Society of Industrial Economics, Institute of Modern Economic System of Liaoning University and Shenyang Industrial Chain Research Institute.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Wang Weiguang, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Economics. Professor Yu Miaojie, Deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress, Special Inspector of the State Committee of Supervisory of the PRC, Member of the International Economics Association, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He introduced Liaoning University to the experts and scholars at the conference by saying that remarkable achievements had been made as the university carried out the mission of ‘Chinese modernization’ and solidly promoted the development of ‘Double First-Class’. He also shared General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on new quality productive forces, hoping that the guests could conduct exchanges and pool insights together. By doing so, we could achieve new breakthroughs in theoretical innovation of economics and management and provide intellectual support for accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces and promoting Chinese modernization.

During the keynote speech section, experts and scholars shared their new innovative paradigms and theoretical analysis on such topics as new quality productive forces, high quality development and modernized industrial system, actively offering insights and inputs for serving China’s major strategies and promoting local economic and social development.

Researcher Jin Bei, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences gave a keynote speech on the topic of ‘Construction of Economic Paradigm of New Quality Productive Forces’. He noted that the new quality productive forces could be studied from the economic perspective in different ways. He added that the current paradigms of microeconomics and macroeconomics would definitely be changed and transformed, forming a new theoretical paradigm of economic science to explain many practical problems.

Professor Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University gave a keynote speech on the topic of ‘High-quality Development is the Right Way to Follow’. He stressed that in the new stage of development, we should fully and faithfully apply the five new development concepts by restarting and deepening reform. He also elaborated on the concrete measures to build a unified domestic market, promote structural reform on the supply side, cultivate new quality productive forces, enhance financial management and security and build a new ground in pursuing opening up on all fronts.

Professor Tang Xiaohua from School of Economics of Liaoning University gave a keynote speech on the topic of ‘Thoughts on the Modernized Industrial System of China’s Manufacturing Industry in the Era of Digital Economy’. He noted that as manufacturing plays a major role in the real economy, it also brings a supportive effect on the modernized industrial system. He added that in a global landscape of economic development, it is wise to build a modernized industrial system in manufacturing. It also provides strong support for the upgrading of China’s manufacturing value chain.
After the keynote speech section, experts and scholars also delivered speeches. This section was divided into four parts and was presided over by Ji Xiaole, Deputy Editor of the Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences of Shandong University, Chen Ping, Associate Researcher in the editorial department of Henan Academy of Social Sciences and Regional Economic Review, Wang Junjie, Associate Researcher in the editorial department of Contemporary Finance and Economics and Ran Lijun, Editor of Social Science Research. Speeches were given by Zhang Fulu, Editor-in-Chief of Regional Economic Review and Henan Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Wang Wen, Chief Economist of China Export Credit Insurance Corporation, Professor Niu Zhiwei, Dean of Institute of Digital Economy and Business Environment of Zhejiang Gongshang University, Professor Wang Haijie, Vice President of Zhengzhou University, Professor Qin Jianwei, Director of the Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Social Finance Development Corporation, Chen Xiaodong, Researcher of China Industrial and Enterprise Competitiveness Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Ma Tao, Dean of Business School of Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Lu Fucai, former Secretary of the CPC Committee of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Professor Liu Jiejiao, Dean of Business School of Jiangxi Institute of Fashion Technology, Professor Li Xihui, School of Economics of Minzu University of China, Professor Feng Yanming, School of Management of Minzu University of China, Professor Feng Hua, School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University and Professor Wang Weiguang, Deputy Director of Faculty of Economics of Liaoning University.
At the end of the conference, Professor Li Xihui, former Dean of the School of Management of Minzu University of China made a concluding speech on behalf of the secretariat of the 60-member Forum on Chinese School of Economics and Management and announced the success of the conference.
