Recently, the launching ceremony of the Key Laboratory of Coalburst Theory and Prevention Technology of the National Mine Safety Administration was held at Liaoning University, which was reported by Liaoning Daily. The following was the full text of the message:

On July 13, 2024, the launching ceremony of the Key Laboratory of Coalburst Theory and Prevention Technology of the National Mine Safety Administration was held at Liaoning University, attracting leaders, experts and scholars from more than ten companies and universities from the National Mine Safety Administration, Liaoning Bureau of the National Mine Safety Administration and the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province.

In recent years, Liaoning Province has been involved in the research on the prevention and control of coalburst, thus gaining new progress in the mechanism of coalburst, coal and gas outburst, monitoring and early warning, energy absorption support and prevention. The research achievements in the province have been applied in more than 140 coalburst mines in China. The approval of the key laboratory was jointly supported by Liaoning University, Liaoning Technical University, China National Coal Group Corporation and China Coal Research Institute, marking a higher level of the province’s research on coalburst prevention and control in China.

Pan Yishan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University and Director of the key laboratory noted that going forward, the laboratory would work on the research of the mechanism and prevention technologies of coalburst and carry out project research, academic exchanges and talent training around the monitoring and prevention of coalburst theories, compound disaster management and intelligent layout. By doing so, the university would serve the development strategy of fully revitalizing Liaoning Province and safeguard the national energy security by offering ‘Liaoning insight’.
