On July 18, 2024, the press conference on Shenyang Urban Development Report (2023) was successfully held at the the Press Office of Shenyang Municipal People’s Government. Qi Haitao, CPC Secretary and Chairman of Shenyang Federation of Social Science Associations attended the conference and delivered a speech. Professor Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Liaoning University, Professor Huo Chunhui and Professor Qiu Huanguang, members of the Standing Committee and Vice Presidents of Liaoning University were invited to attend the conference.
Chairman Qi Haitao congratulated the publication of Shenyang Urban Development Report (2023). She noted that the book analyzes and comprehensively displays the latest development trends of Shenyang in the fields of economy, society, rule of law, culture and ecology from 2022 to 2023 and is a major achievement of Shenyang Research Institute on Northeast Asia Internationalization Center, a research base of Shenyang Federation of Social Science Associations. The publication of this book marked an important step in Shenyang’s urban research and policy formulation, which would help to enhance the city’s image and influence and provide solid theoretical support and practical guidance for the high-quality development of the city.
Professor Yu Miaojie introduced Shenyang Urban Development Report (2023) in detail from the economy, society and culture. He noted that the book, compiled by Liaoning University, comprehensively reflects the basic developments of Shenyang’s urban development in 2022 to 2023 by presenting detailed data and systematic research. He also summarized the practices, experience and achievements in the city’s development, analyzed the domestic and international development trends, opportunities in various fields and put forward targeted suggestions for the development of key areas in Shenyang.
At the Q&A session, Professor Yu Miaojie, Professor Huo Chunhui and Professor Qiu Huanguang answered the reporters’ questions. These questions covered the expectations for Shenyang’s economic and social development in 2024 and the future, the current situation of Shenyang’s private economy and how to enhance the innovation ability and core competitiveness of private enterprises, Shenyang’s rural revitalization and how to stimulate new driving forces for rural development.
Professor Yu Miaojie is very optimistic about the future economic and social development of Shenyang and interpreted the economic and social development of the city in three dimensions and expounded the core position of Shenyang in the national strategic layout from two perspectives.
Professor Huo Chunhui analyzed the current situation of the private economy in Shenyang by using rich and detailed data and offered professional guidance to improve the innovation ability and core competitiveness of private enterprises from policy support, enterprise development and talent support.
Professor Qiu Huanguang noted that in 2023, Shenyang secured a bumper harvest in 20 years in a row. Remarkable achievements have also been made in safeguarding national food security, industrial development, living environment and county economy.
