LNU Holds the 2024 Liaoning Province University Student Innovation Contest

From July 24 to 26, 2024, the final of the 2024 Liaoning Province University Student Innovation Contest was successfully held at Puhe Campus of Liaoning University. The contest was hosted by the Educational Department of Liaoning Province and the Department of Finance of Liaoning Province, undertaken by Liaoning University and supported by China Construction Bank Liaoning Branch.



On the morning of July 24, the kick-off meeting of the final contest was held at the Jonathan KS Choi Hall of Puhe Campus. Kong Feng, Deputy Director of the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, Pan Yishan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University and Xiao Xiao, Vice President of China Construction Bank Liaoning Branch attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting was presided over by Li Yupeng, Vice President of Liaoning University and attended by more than 600 leaders, teachers and students from over 70  universities and colleges in Liaoning Province.







On the afternoon of July 24, the organizing committee of the contest organized different types of activities for the students, which included the visit of ‘September 18’ Historical Museum and the Industrial Museum of China.

On July 25, the final contest was held in Zexing Building of Puhe Campus. 265 projects from 57 universities and colleges were divided into eight groups to compete. Each team was enthusiastic in presenting a comprehensive demonstration about their project in terms of its team structure, market positioning, business model, financial analysis and advantages and answered questions from the judging panel. The judges scored the projects from the aspects of education, innovation, development, business and social value. In the end, 130 projects stood out and entered the gold medal qualifying.

On July 26, the gold medal qualifying was held in Lixing Building of Puhe Campus. 130 projects in higher education group and 30 projects in industrial group were divided into three groups to compete. An observation area was also provided so that teachers and students from other universities and colleges could watch the contest and score in real time. After fierce competition, 120 golden projects in higher education group, 35 golden projects in youth group and another 20 golden projects in industrial group emerged.



The preparation of the contest started in June this year. Led by Vice President Li Yupeng, eight working groups covering coordination, reception, contest service and volunteer service were set up. 30 teachers and 140 student volunteers from Liaoning University provided all-round services to 50 judges, 295 participating teams and nearly 1,000 teachers and students in catering, transportation and medical services. Liaoning University was well received by the judges, teachers and students as it worked to provide meticulous competition preparation, thoughtful reception services, an orderly contest, a safe and stable scoring system and fair and just competition results.
