On June 28-29, 2024, the third academic event of the 65th anniversary series of the founding of the Journal of Liaoning University (Philosophy & Social Science) was successfully held in the conference room of Liaoning Mansion. This conference invited Professor Wang Huaimin, Executive Editor of Economic Survey, Professor Zhang Yuesheng, Executive Editor of Journal of Management, and Professor Zhang Ling, Executive Editor of Journal of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, to exchange and discuss the high-quality development of academic journals and the writing and review of academic papers.
During the meeting, experts from Economic Survey, Journal of Management, and Journal of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with the Journal of Liaoning University based on their experience in running core journals. Professor Wang Huaimin emphasized that the setting of columns and the normative nature of manuscripts play an important role in the influence factors of journals. It is necessary to pay attention to the entire publishing process of journals and develop effective ways and measures to enhance their influence. Professor Zhang Yuesheng emphasized that journal evaluation should be correctly treated, a problem-based approach should be adopted, and the path of characteristic publication should be explored to truly make journals serve disciplines and serve the society. Professor Zhang Ling emphasized that journal article selection should respond to national key concerns, highlight academic norms, explore typological research, and drive high-quality development through high-quality manuscripts.
Through the meeting, while further promoting the exchange and cooperation between the Journal of Liaoning University and domestic high-quality academic journals, it also provided useful ideas for the Journal of Liaoning University in terms of journal positioning, manuscript quality, publishing process, and enhancing the influence of journals. The participating students said that through learning and exchanges in the meeting, the ability of writing academic papers has been further improved, and the selection and review process of academic journals have been fully understood.
Professor Liu Junting, the Secretary of the Direct Party Branch and the Director of the Editorial Department of Journal of Liaoning University, presided over the meeting. Professor Xing Zhiren, Vice President of Liaoning Provincial Journal Association and former Chief Editor of Journal of Liaoning University, Professor Sun Yan, former Deputy Editor, and relevant faculty members and doctoral and master's students from the Editorial Department attended the meeting.
