On August 14, 2024, the Anshan Municipal Committee Theory Learning Center Group Meeting and the special report conference on ‘Developing New Quality Productive Forces’ were held. The meeting focused on in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th Central Committee’s Third Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China, as well as General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the symposium on promoting comprehensive revitalization in Northeast China in the new era. The focus was on implementing the three-year action plan for new breakthroughs in comprehensive revitalization, accelerating the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces, and promoting high-quality development to provide strong support for building the Anshan chapter of Chinese-style modernization.
The meeting was chaired and addressed by Wang Zhongkun, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee. Pan Yishan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Party Secretary of Liaoning University, gave a special report. Wu Kaihua, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Sun Huifang, Chairperson of the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Pan Yishan delivered a special report titled ‘Deeply Understanding and Vigorously Developing New Quality Productive Forces’. He provided an in-depth explanation of the background, connotation, and significance of new quality productive forces, discussed 48 cutting-edge technologies related to new quality productive forces, explored the relationship between new quality productive forces and the digital economy, and outlined the five characteristics, five transformations, and five approaches of new quality productive forces. He also offered suggestions for the development of new quality productive forces in Anshan. Attendees unanimously agreed that the report was both insightful and comprehensive. It is seen as highly instructive and practical for motivating the entire city to strengthen confidence, address shortcomings, adapt to local conditions for developing new quality productive forces, and vigorously advance the practice of Chinese-style modernization in Anshan.
Deputy Secretary of the Anshan Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Political and Legal Committee, Yao Guomin, as well as members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, leaders from the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, the Municipal Government, and the Municipal Political Consultative Conference attended the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Intermediate People’s Court, the Chief Prosecutor of the People’s Procuratorate, and key responsible comrades from the municipal departments, municipal institutions, and people’s organizations. Leaders from municipal institutions and state-owned enterprises in Anshan were also present.
