The meeting was hosted by Liaoning University. More than 150 scholars from over 30 universities conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge issues in macroeconomics and finance. Universities included Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Nankai University, Harvard University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the National University of Singapore, and Columbia University. The renowned economist and president of Liaoning University, Yu Miaojie, and many economic scholars from home and abroad spoke at the meeting, demonstrating their latest research results on China’s macroeconomic development.

The meeting manifested the full recognition and support of the international academic community for the discipline construction of applied economics at Liaoning University. It also built a platform for further promoting the in-depth development of international exchanges and cooperation. As a result of the meeting, Liaoning University will strive for new breakthroughs in the high-quality construction of ‘First-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines’, and enhance the comprehensive strength and international competitiveness of Liaoning’s higher education.

NBER is a world-famous economics research institution dedicated to promoting leading-edge research and analyses on major economic issues. As of 2024, 44 NBER economists have won the Nobel Prize in Economics.
