On October 26, 2024, the 24th Conference of CCAVA and the 17th Chinese Advanced Forum of Visual Art, with the theme of "New Era, New Mission: Chinese Film and Television and Modern Civilization Construction of the Chinese Nation", was ceremoniously opened at the Puhe Campus of Liaoning University. CCAVA is a national first-class society approved by Ministry of Civil Affairs and supervised by National Radio and Television Administration. The conference is jointly hosted by Liaoning University and CCAVA, and jointly organized by College of Communication of Liaoning University and the Secretariat of CCAVA. More than 700 experts and scholars from Liaoning University, as well as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Normal University, Communication University of China and other universities, gathered in the Jonathan KS Choi Hall to deeply explore how Chinese film and television can promote cultural prosperity, build a cultural power, and construct modern civilization of the Chinese nation at a new starting point.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Liaoning University, delivered a welcome speech. He expressed a warm welcome to all experts and scholars and wished the academic conference a complete success. He pointed out that the theme of this annual meeting is the best response to strengthening the cultural power of Chinese path to modernization development, showing the conscious sense of responsibility and the courage to take on the spirit of the film and television associations of Chinese colleges and universities. This high position, large pattern, and broad vision of vision and spirit are highly consistent with the development of Liaoning University. He also comprehensively introduced the disciplinary construction of Liaoning University to the experts and scholars present, and emphasized the achievements of Liaoning University in disciplinary construction, academic research, and teaching practice in the field of film and television art. He expressed that Liaoning University, as one of the organizers of this annual conference, is pleased to provide an important venue for experts and scholars to share research results, exchange academic views, and stimulate innovative thinking, which will help promote academic progress and disciplinary development in the field of film and television art. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Li Yupeng, Vice President of Liaoning University.

Professor Hu Zhifeng, Vice Chairman of the China Television Artists Association and School of Art and Media at Beijing Normal University, Professor Ding Yaping, President of the Association and Researcher at the China Academy of Arts, and Professor Shen Guohua, Dean of the School of Radio, Film and Television at Liaoning University, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Northeast Asia Audiovisual Art Innovation and Research Center at Liaoning University.

The 24th Conference and Forum of the CCAVA has a total of 27 academic forums, including 1 themed forum, 8 specialized forums, and 18 thematic forums. In the themed forum segment, six renowned experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions from different fields and perspectives.

At the same time, the 2023-2024 CCAVA Excellence Promotion Event and the 8th Shenyang Youth Film Festival Launch Ceremony were held in the auditorium of Chongshan Campus of Liaoning University.
