Professor Dong Baomin, a Ph.D. in Economics from Concordia University, a distinguished professor in Henan Province and a member of the Academic Committee of Henan University has officially signed a contract to join Liaoning University as Deputy Director of the Faculty of Economics.
Dong Baomin, a Ph.D. in Economics, Concordia University, a distinguished professor in Henan Province, a visiting scholar at University of California, Santa Barbara and a visiting scholar at Stanford University, USA. He was professor and Ph.D. supervisor of School of Economics and Yellow River Civilization and Sustainable Development Research Center, member of Academic Committee of Henan University, Director of Institute of Institutional Changes and Economic Development and Director of Academic Committee of International Business School of Henan University. He is an adjunct professor at Northwest University, a visiting professor at Hainan University, deputy editor-in-chief of Industrial Economic Review, an economic consulting expert at Asian Development Bank and a director of the National Game Theory Professional Society.
His research fields are Chinese economic history, economic thought history, international economics, industrial economics and development economics. In Economic History Review, Explorations in Economic History, World Economy, Review of International Economics, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, Review of Development Economics, China Economic Review, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Economic Research Journal, China Economic Quarterly and other authoritative economic journals at home and abroad, he has published more than 40 academic papers. His cooperative paper The Legacy of Colonial Rule: On the Impact of the Railway Zones in Modern China was awarded the Sir Timothy Coghlan Prize for the Best Paper of Australian Economic History Review in 2022, an influential international journal in the field of economic history. He has also published academic monographs Cooperative Game Theory and Cost Sharing and Lecture Notes on Information Economics and translated Common Value Auctions and Winner’s Curse. He has presided over the key research project of philosophy and social science research of the Ministry of Education, ‘Study on Early Confucianism and National Governance System and Governance Ability’.
He has hosted and co-organized relevant international conferences in his research fields for many times. He has been invited to organize the Asian Conference of Econometrics Society and the sub-conference of the annual meeting of SAET Society and has presented his papers at international conferences such as the International Game Theory Conference for many times.
He has rich experience in his career and has taught at University of International Business and Economics, Zhejiang University and Henan University. His courses such as Industrial Organization Theory, Economic and Trade Research and Paper Writing, Information Economics, Game Theory and Information Economics, Regulation and Antimonopoly Economics and Welfare Economics were well received by his students.
