On December 11, 2024, Shi Weidong, Party Secretary and Director of Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee led a team to Liaoning University for discussion and exchanges. Pan Yishan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University, Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University, Yan Hai, Vice President of Liaoning University and other relevant officials and scholars attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Zhang Hongxin.

Shi Weidong extended thanks to Liaoning University for its warm reception. He expressed the expectation to strengthen cooperation with Liaoning University in legislation and promoting economic and social development, jointly exploring cooperation in talent legislation, marine economy promotion law and regulations on the promotion of aged care services. He added that with the advantages of disciplines and talents of Liaoning University, it was hoped that Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress would work in a more scientific, rule-based and democratic manner and contribute to the high quality development of the local economy and society.

Pan Yishan, on behalf of the Party Committee of the university welcomed Shi Weidong and his team and thanked Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress for its strong support to Liaoning University in building practice bases and integration of science and education in recent years. He fully affirmed Yingkou’s important measures in broadening market space, providing a stable scientific research environment and promoting the integrated development of politics, industries, education, research and application. He noted that Liaoning University would take it as its responsibility to cultivate first-class patriotic talents with a sense of social responsibilities. He added that the university would adhere to the concept of ‘three goes’ strategy and solve problems in the economic and social development of Yingkou City.

Yan Hai noted that Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress and Liaoning University enjoyed a solid cooperative foundation and had accumulated rich experience in project cooperation such as legislation, post-evaluation, legal consultation and training. He added that Liaoning University was confident and capable of completing the cooperation plans with Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress in legislative projects, legislative information resources, talent training and academic research. He also noted that Liaoning University would coordinate teachers and students of relevant colleges and schools to conduct research activities in Yingkou as soon as possible to promote internship practices.    

During the communication section, Xie Di, Dean of China Finance Research Institute of Liaoning University, Cao Jiqun, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Graduate School, He Jun, Deputy Dean of School of Economics, Zhang Guiwen, a professor from School of Economics, Song Limin, a researcher from School of Public Management, Hou Xiaolei, an associate professor of Law School and head of the teaching and research section of national law and Lan Lan, an assistant professor of Li Anmin Institute of Economic Research had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Yingkou Municipal People’s Congress on local legislation, silver-haired economy and the integration of cultural and sports tourism.
