In order to promote the sustained and vigorous development of international Chinese education, cooperate and support carrying out good Chinese teaching from country to country, promote language and cultural exchanges and educational cooperation between China and foreign countries, deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the 2024 World Chinese Conference, hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and jointly organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese International Education Foundation and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, was held in Beijing from November 15 to 17, 2024. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 2024 World Chinese Language Conference and congratulated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Confucius Institutes. Vice President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony of the conference, read out President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter, and delivered a speech. The theme of the conference is "Interconnection, Integration, Inheritance, and Innovation". Over 2000 government officials, headmasters, experts, scholars, student representatives, and ambassadors from more than 160 countries and regions attended the conference. Huo Chunhui, Vice President of Liaoning University, led the delegation from LNU to attend this conference.

During the World Chinese Language Conference, the 2024 Liaoning  Confucius Institute Partnership Alliance Working Conference and Symposium on Management and Collaboration in International Chinese Language Education Projects were held simultaneously. Hu Zhiping, Deputy Director of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Zhao Lingshan, Secretary General of the Chinese International Education Foundation, and Kong Feng, Deputy Director of the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Huo Chunhui introduced the development of international Chinese education and Confucius Institute construction at Liaoning University, and proposed future work ideas based on practical situations. Firstly, it is necessary to fully leverage the important role of member units of the alliance, integrate Liaoning's tourism and cultural resources, tell the story of Liaoning with high quality. It is hoped to establish a collaborative mechanism of co-construction, co-management, co-ownership, and sharing with other universities in the alliance to jointly organize activities and create brand awareness of the projects. The second is to cohere the intelligence of the universities, innovate and develop, make the use of the educational and teaching resources of universities within the province, strengthen communication and interaction with other provincial alliance units, further promote educational cooperation, serve the cultural exchange of our province to "go global", and make the alliance truly become the driving force for the development and cooperation of Confucius Institutes , helping to promote the high-quality development of international Chinese education.

The conference held themed seminars to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Confucius Institutes, as well as organized activities such as the 2024 China Overseas Language and Culture Forum, discussed topics such as the future development of Confucius Institutes, the construction and promotion of international Chinese education standards and the international application and services of Chinese language. In the future, we will gather forces from both China and abroad to jointly promote the innovative development of Confucius Institutes and international Chinese education.

Executives and staff from the Confucius Institutes at Irkutsk State University, Dakar University, International Exchange Office of LNU, Institute of International Education of LNU and Confucius Institute Affairs Office of LNU attended the meeting.
