“In joy we mark the turn of the year, welcoming the new and bidding farewell to the old.”
On the Eve of the Spring Festival, President Xi Jinping visited Liaoning to conduct an inspection and extend his greetings to grassroots officials and the public. He visited disaster-stricken areas, explored markets, and entered communities, leaving behind warm footprints of the New Year, demonstrating his deep concern for the most important matters. In this Spring Festival, a time with more smiles and warmer hearts, we also extend our New Year’s blessings and heartfelt greetings to all faculty, staff, and retired comrades who have dedicated themselves to the development of Liaoning University (LNU). We convey our highest respect to the extensive alumni and all sectors of society who have long supported and cared about the university’s growth and development!
“A gentle breeze stirs the waves, scattering them like stars across the river.” The old year we are about to bid farewell has been extraordinary. In the Year of the Dragon (Jia Chen), we upheld the principle that ‘serving Liaoning is serving the nation’, and wrote a splendid chapter in the Double First-Class Initiative through our unity and collective effort. We distilled the spirit of Liaoning University — ‘the red gene, the sentiment of the eldest son, inclusiveness and openness, diligence and self-improvement’ — in our steadfast commitment and responsibility. The entire faculty and students ‘stepped out of the campus to find real-world scenarios, delved into society to identify genuine problems, and ventured to the forefront to seek pragmatic innovations’, advancing with renewed vigor and writing new glories in our concerted efforts. The resolute footprints have been recounted in the New Year’s address, documented in the work summary, and will shine brightly in the history of LNU. It is precisely the dedication of every position, the passion of every student, and the contribution of every teacher that have converged into the mighty force of LNU, unfolding a scene of progress and endeavor. As a gentle breeze stirs the waves and scatters them like stars across the river, LNUers, in their soaring ideals, dedicated positions, and deeply rooted fields, set out time and again towards the future, reaching destinations and then setting forth once more. At this moment, we have every reason and every confidence to cheer for every ordinary yet extraordinary member of the LNU family! In the Year of the Snake (Yi Si), we will carry forward this legacy, move forward fearlessly, and strive for a newer self, a warmer campus, and a better LNU.
“With a brush of hues, I inscribe verses on phoenix leaves; through poetic lines, I send whispers of peace.”
Amidst the glowing tapestry of countless household lights, the vibrant essence of Chinese New Year fills the air as warmth envelops LNU’s campuses. Even in this festive night, dedicated staff members stand steadfast at their posts. Their unwavering presence reflects professional commitment, a profound sense of duty, and heartfelt devotion to our academic community. This quiet dedication embodies both the nurturing essence of education and an enduring love for LNU. With the turning of the year and the chime of New Year bells, gratitude resonates deeply within us. At this cherished moment of reunion and renewal, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to every member of the LNU family. Your efforts are truly admirable!
We wish all faculty and students a joyful Spring Festival, vibrant health, harmonious families, and success in all your endeavors!
