On March 10, Pan Yishan, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University led a team to conduct inspection at the Psychological Counseling Center and convened a meeting. The inspection and meeting was also joined by Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Liaoning University.
Pan Yishan made positive remarks on the important role played by the Psychological Counseling Center. He noted that students’ mental health is an important part of talent training and the foundation of their all-round development. He also made requirements to its future work. He stressed that the first is to ensure mental health and safety. It is necessary to establish an early warning mechanism to prevent psychological crisis and ensure students’ mental health and safety. The second is to improve preventive measures by using technologies. It is important to give full play to the role of artificial intelligence and psychological software and help psychological teachers better understand students’ mental health status and changing trends through data analysis so as to improve the psychological screening effect. The third is to upgrade the consulting environment. According to the requirements of the relevant documents of the Ministry of Education, it is imperative to further improve the conditions of functional rooms and the level of consulting facilities in a way to provide a good consulting environment for teachers and students. The fourth is to make plans and regulations. The center should do a good job in medium and long-term development planning, improve the level of scientific research, give full play to the professional advantages of psychological testing and behavior analysis laboratories and strive for a breakthrough in the development of degree programs. The fifth is to strengthen team building. It is vital to fully mobilize the resources of teachers at the university, recruit teachers with psychological knowledge background to join the team as part-time psychological teachers, improve the mental health educational system and provide students with more comprehensive and professional mental health services.
He demanded that all departments should take a problem-oriented perspective and focus on the difficulties and problems in the reform and development of the center. By putting forward concrete and feasible measures, strong support can be guaranteed for the development of the center. Meanwhile, it is important to strengthen interaction and exchanges with other universities, sum up good practices and experience, learn advanced teaching models and management methods to constantly improve the level of teaching and management.
At the meeting, leaders of the Psychological Counseling Center reported on the overall development of the center and the work. Officials from various departments conducted in-depth discussions on the problems in the reform and development of the center. With many constructive opinions and suggestions offered, they extended their full support for the development of the center.
Before the meeting, Pan Yishan and officials from different departments visited the consultation rooms, sand table rooms, relaxation treatment rooms and other functional rooms of the center, getting more about the psychological services and the use of functional rooms.
