On April 11, the Launch Ceremony of Campus Film Screenings was held in the auditorium of Chongshan Campus of LNU.

Hou Xiao, the Director of the Market Division of China Film Administration of the Publicity Department of the CPC, attended the launching ceremony and convened an investigation and symposium. The participants exchanged and shared experiences and practices regarding the construction of the "Grand Ideological and Political Courses" and discussed how to enhance the influence of ideological and political education by taking ideological and political education in film and television as a carrier.

Yang Lijing, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Director of Liaoning Provincial Film Bureau, attended the launching ceremony.

Yu Miaojie, President of LNU, delivered a speech at the launching ceremony. Firstly, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Publicity Department of the CPC, the Publicity Department of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, the China Film Group Corporation, and all the cooperative units for their support and assistance to LNU. He summarized the significance of this event with three new aspects. He stated that this is a new breakthrough in the mode of ideological and political education. This cooperation is an innovative measure to improve the quality of ideological and political education. By using forms that teachers and students love to see and hear, it deeply expands the educational function of the Grand Ideological and Political Courses, and makes excellent films vivid teaching materials for promoting the ‘simultaneous implementation of the five educations’ (moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education). This is a new exploration of campus culture education. Ideological and political education through film and television is not only an extension of the main channel of the classroom, but also an important carrier for promoting education through culture and humanistic education. The three-dimensional cultural education model of film viewing plus ideological and political education will further enrich the spiritual nourishment of campus culture. This is a new exploration of the integration between the academic and industrial circles. He hopes that both sides can explore more linkage methods that connect academic research with applied practice, and talent cultivation with enterprise needs. He also hopes to promote the LNU model and LNU experience to more universities, and drive universities to achieve mutual integration and communication with the industrial circles in more fields.

Liu Chun, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of the China Film Group Corporation, stated in his speech that Liaoning University is the first demonstration university in Northeast China where the Grand Ideological and Political Course of Film and Television has been established. Its settlement in LNU is an important achievement of the deepened cooperation and mutual development between the China Film Group Corporation and LNU. He expressed the hope that taking the cooperation as an opportunity, both sides can work together to build a highland for ideological and political education through film and television, and jointly explore new paths to help LNU continuously expand the depth and breadth of the dissemination of ideological and political education. It can guide young students to have an in-depth understanding of the development process of the Party and the country, feel the pulse and rhythm of the new era, and enable the sentiment of patriotism to take root in the hearts of young people.
At the ceremony site, Liu Chun and Yu Miaojie jointly unveiled the plaque of the ‘Demonstration Site of the Grand Ideological and Political Course of Film and Television at LNU’.

Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of LNU, attended and presided over the launching ceremony.
Leaders and guests from the cooperative units, together with more than 500 teachers and students, participated in the launching ceremony. After the launching ceremony, the teachers and students watched the film titled ‘The Volunteers: The Battle of Life and Death’.
