On the morning of May 24, the "Forum on the Integrated Development of Education, Technology and Talent of China Higher Education Training Center" and the "Forum on High-level Opening-up of Education and Cultivation of Top-notch Talents in Economics" of the 63rd Higher Education Exposition were held in Conference Room 104 of the Northeast Asia International Conference Center in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Directed by the China Association of Higher Education, hosted by the China Higher Education Training Center, and undertaken by Liaoning University, the forum focused on hot issues such as the interpretation of national education opening-up policies, the current situation and trends of international exchange and cooperation in higher education, the coordinated development of education opening-up and regional economy, the internationalized cultivation practice of top-notch economics talents, and the construction of top-notch economics student cultivation bases. Kong Feng, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Liaoning Province; Yu Miaojie, President of Liaoning University; Yan Hai, Vice President of Liaoning University; Cai Lidong, Executive Vice President of Jilin University; Zhang Guangcui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Changchun Normal University, and other officials attended the forum. Experts and scholars from Jilin University, Jilin University of Finance and Economics and other universities gathered to discuss new paths for the high-level opening-up of education and write a new chapter in the cultivation of top-notch economics talents. The opening and closing ceremonies of the forum were presided over by Yan Hai.
In his speech, Kong Feng first expressed warm congratulations on the smooth convening of the forum on behalf of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, and sincerely thanked Liaoning University for its efforts in preparing the forum. He pointed out that the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education has deepened educational exchange and cooperation through multi-dimensional measures and focused on cultivating international innovative talents in multiple fields, effectively promoting a new breakthrough in Liaoning's comprehensive revitalization in terms of expanding the level of education opening-up, enhancing the international influence of education, and cultivating top-notch innovative talents in economics, with remarkable achievements. He put forward future work directions and expectations for provincial colleges and universities: first, to create a Liaoning model for cultivating economics talents; second, to carry out the "Study in China" brand plan and the China-France cultural exchange plan, build Liaoning-characteristic demonstration courses on Chinese national conditions education, and improve the international development capabilities of colleges and universities and the competence of cadres through international cooperation platforms; third, Liaoning University should give play to its disciplinary advantages in economics, provide decision-making consulting for central and local governments, and help traditional industries transform and upgrade.
Yu Miaojie delivered the opening speech on behalf of Liaoning University. He warmly welcomed all leaders and guests, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education for its care and guidance, as well as to colleagues from fraternal institutions for their strong support. He outlined the practical blueprint for high-level opening-up of education and cultivation of top-notch economics talents from three dimensions: the vision of "opening-up as the key", the wisdom of "collaboration as the foundation", and the responsibility of "innovation as the soul".
Yan Hai stated that this forum is not only an academic gathering but also a "declaration" for educational openness and a "blueprint" for talent cultivation. Taking this forum as a starting point, Liaoning University will continue to serve as a "bridge and link," allowing the "spring breeze" of educational openness to warm the Northeast and letting the "spark" of top-notch talents illuminate the path of revitalization.
In the keynote report session, Yu Miaojie delivered a keynote speech entitled High-Level Opening-Up of Education and Cultivation of Top-Notch Talents in Economics. Based on the political, people-oriented, and strategic attributes of education, he explained the profound connotations of high-level opening-up in education, and shared the achievements made by Liaoning University in advancing educational opening-up, such as solidly promoting Sino-foreign cooperative education, international exchange and cooperation, and the construction of Confucius Institutes. From the aspects of curriculum development, teaching material construction, faculty building, academic atmosphere cultivation, and deep participation in the Ministry of Education's "101 Plan", he introduced the university's work experience and effectiveness in continuously improving the quality of talent cultivation.
Cai Lidong delivered a keynote speech titled Cultivating Fertile Soil for Global Talents: Reflections and Practices on Recruiting and Cultivating High-Level Talents at Jilin University. He argued that it is essential to continuously optimize the full-chain system for talent recruitment, cultivation, retention, and utilization, adhere to the principle of gathering global talents for shared purposes, comprehensively address the dual challenges of "bringing in" and "sending out," continuously expand opening-up and cooperation, transform geographical disadvantages into advantages for talent recruitment and cultivation, and comprehensively strengthen efforts in talent introduction, cultivation, development, service, and security.
Zhang Guangcui delivered a keynote speech titled Reflections on Systemic Educational Opening-Up and Cooperation Empowering High-Quality Education Development. Focusing on the practices of Jilin University and Changchun Normal University against the backdrop of building an education power, she interpreted the new missions, tasks, and mechanisms of educational opening-up.
Zhang Hongmei delivered a keynote speech titled Highlighting the Characteristics of New Financial and Economic Education and Innovating a New Model for Cultivating Top-Notch Talents, sharing the characteristic experience and practices of Jilin University of Finance and Economics in cultivating top-notch economics talents, and providing practical paths for cultivating high-level top-notch talents in the new era.
The keynote report session of the first stage of the forum was chaired by Wang Weiguang, Deputy Director of the Economics Department of Liaoning University, and the exchange and discussion session of the second stage was chaired by Huo Weidong, Deputy Director of the Economics Department of Liaoning University. During the in-depth exchange and discussion session: - Professor Liu Wenge, Dean of the School of International Economics and Politics at Liaoning University, and Professor Ding Yibing discussed the development trends of digital trade and talent cultivation. - Professor Zhang Guanghui, Vice Dean of the School of Economics at Liaoning University, and Associate Professor Yang Siying explored and practiced the cultivation model for top-notch economics students at Liaoning University. - Professor Ma Yali, Vice Dean of the Asia-Australia Business School at Liaoning University, and Associate Professor Zhao Xuanwei shared valuable experiences and insights on the exploration of the "three-dimensional capability" integrated cultivation model for top-notch economic and management talents—supporting international talent cultivation through cooperative education, and innovative practices in cultivating top-notch talents in the digital economy era.
