From May 28 to 29, the 13th Congress of the Communist Youth League of LNU was held at the Puhe Campus of LNU. Shi Hongbo, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League Liaoning Provincial Committee; Sun Tao, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Shenyang Municipal Committee; Pan Yishan, Secretary of the Party Committee of LNU; Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of LNU; and university leaders Zhang Hongxin, Huo Chunhui, Wang Peng, Qiu Huanguang, and Yan Hai attended the opening ceremony.
The Congress opened with the majestic National Anthem.
Pan Yishan, on behalf of the LNU Party Committee, extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the Congress and fully affirmed the outstanding achievements made by the Communist Youth League of the University in recent years. He pointed out that over the past five years, the University’s Communist Youth League has taken enhancing its ability to lead as the main focus, strengthening organizational capacity as the driving force, improving service capabilities as the key point, and increasing contribution as the goal, injecting youthful momentum into all aspects of the University’s work. He put forward four hopes for the Youth League organizations at all levels and the majority of league members and young people in the University: 1. Establish the ambition to serve the country and strive to be ambitious Liaoning University youth in tune with the times’, integrating youthful struggles into the great cause of the Party and the people. 2. Enhance national capabilities and strive to be ‘talented Liaoning University youth with excellent skills’, devoting themselves to the reform, construction, and development of the University with high spirits. 3. Cultivate a heart of dedication and strive to be 'virtuous Liaoning University youth with moral integrity’, establishing the concept of growing into talent by rooting in grassroots positions and making contributions on the job. 4. Shoulder the responsibilities of the era and strive to be achieving Liaoning University youth with courage and commitment, deeply understanding the great significance of advancing Chinese-style modernization, working steadfastly and diligently to achieve the mutual pursuit of personal ideals and Chinese-style modernization, and striving to compose a magnificent chapter for Liaoning University youth!
Yu Miaojie delivered the opening speech at the Congress. He pointed out that the Communist Youth League of the University has closely focused on the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, deeply integrating ideological guidance into all aspects of league members' and young people's growth. By cultivating patriotism through practical education, stimulating innovative vitality through scientific and technological innovation education, enhancing sense of responsibility through service-oriented education, and nurturing spiritual character through cultural education, it has guided young people to bravely shoulder their youthful missions, continuously improved the League’s leadership, organizational capacity, service capability, and contribution to the overall situation, and promoted the high-quality development of the League’s work. He hoped that the majority of young people would, with the heroic spirit of “Rest assured, Party; we are determined to strengthen the country,” integrate their personal ideals into the overall situation of national development; with the practical spirit of “standing on solid ground and making long-term efforts,” courageously scale new heights in academic research and innovation and entrepreneurship; and with the sincere heart of “devoting themselves to the people and being willing to contribute,” demonstrate their responsibility in serving society and benefiting the people, striving to compose a new chapter of “Building a Strong Country, Liaoning University Takes Action.”
In his speech, Shi Hongbo noted that under the correct leadership of the University’s Party Committee, the Communist Youth League Committee of Liaoning University has made more effective contributions to the central overall situation and strengthened its self-construction more vigorously, fully affirming the achievements made by the League in recent years. He hoped that Youth League organizations at all levels of the University would always uphold the essence of a “political school” to strengthen ideological guidance, shoulder the responsibility of a “vanguard force” to adhere to the educational orientation, exert the function of a "bridge and link" to convey the Party’s care, and anchor the responsibility of an “advanced organization” to promote self-reform, so as to compose a more brilliant chapter on the great journey of the new era.
The 13th Congress of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University closed after successfully completing all agendas. Zhang Hongxin congratulated on the successful convening of the Congress and the establishment of the new committee. He pointed out that the Congress reviewed and summarized the valuable experience of the University's Communist Youth League in practical exploration and reform and innovation over the past five years, deeply analyzed the opportunities and challenges faced by the Communist Youth League in colleges and universities in the new era, and scientifically planned the action path for the next five years. He put forward three hopes to the Youth League organizations at all levels, league cadres, and the majority of league members and young people in the University: first, to deepen the foundation of faith and forge the true color of youth in continuous struggle; second, to bravely shoulder the mission of the era and temper excellent skills in the unity of knowledge and practice; third, to be determined to reform and tackle tough issues and demonstrate youthful responsibility in upholding integrity and innovation. More than 300 people attended the opening ceremony of the Congress, including responsible comrades of the Communist Youth League committees of 16 brother colleges and universities in Liaoning, responsible comrades of relevant functional departments (units) of the University, secretaries of each student training unit, deputy secretaries in charge of student work, and official representatives.
Wu Jianli, Chairman of the University Trade Union, delivered a speech on behalf of the mass organizations.
Liu Jingjing, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of Dalian University of Technology, delivered a speech on behalf of sister institutions.
Gao Yue, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of Liaoning University, delivered a report to the Congress on behalf of the 12th Committee of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University, titled "Hold High the Banner and Follow the Party, Shoulder Responsibilities to Build New Achievements: Unite and Lead All League Members and Young People in the University to Contribute Youthful Strength to Accelerating the Construction of a Comprehensive, Research-Oriented, and High-Level University".
The closing ceremony of the Congress concluded with the stirring Anthem of the Communist Youth League of China.
A total of 208 delegates from 7 delegations, representing the Youth League committees and general branches of 29 grassroots colleges across the university, attended the Congress on behalf of all 20,894 Communist Youth League members in the university.
During the Congress, all delegates earnestly fulfilled their duties as representatives with a high sense of responsibility and mission, deliberated on matters related to the Congress, and unanimously adopted the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University on the Work Report of the 12th Committee and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University on the Report on the Collection, Management, and Use of League Fees. The Congress elected the 13th Committee of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University.
After the closing ceremony, the 13th Committee of the Communist Youth League of Liaoning University convened its first plenary meeting, electing members of the new Standing Committee of the Youth League Committee, as well as the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries.
