
On June 17, 2025, Ye Minsheng, Vice President of Singapore University of Social Sciences, Lin Feng, Director of Master Program, Muhammad Ayyaz, Head of International Exchange Center, Expert Huang Zhuanglong, Liu Niannian, Head of Singapore International Project Management Center and Li Zhe, Project Director of Singapore International Project Management Center visited Liaoning University. Jia Guifen, Vice President of Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Han Dongmei, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Educational Department of Liaoning Province accompanied the visit. Qiu Huanguang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Liaoning University met with the guests at Puhe Campus. The two sides held a meeting, which was chaired by Xie Mingyi, Director of the Office of International Affairs.

Vice President Qiu Huanguang extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Singapore University of Social Sciences and expressed his gratitude to the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Educational Department of Liaoning Province for their long-term care and support for Liaoning University. He noted that as a national “Double First-Class” university and a comprehensive university, LNU boasts profound academic heritage in disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and mathematics with outstanding performances in economics, law, business administration and literature. He added that the university adheres to the vision of transforming Liaoning University into an internationalized university and actively expands exchanges and cooperation with renowned overseas institutions. He expressed the expectation that based on the existing good start of cooperation, Liaoning University and Singapore University of Social Sciences would deepen collaboration in talent cultivation, faculty exchange, scientific research collaboration and other fields, jointly writing a new chapter in friendly exchanges between the two universities.

Vice President Ye Minsheng expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from Liaoning University and the facilitation of the visit by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Educational Department of Liaoning Province. He noted that the visit to Liaoning University comes at a time when Singapore University of Social Sciences and LNU had completed the signing of an inter-institutional cooperation agreement. He looked forward to deepening cooperation between the two sides in business disciplines, joint master’s programs, student exchange and short-term visits, overseas student internships and other fields. He added that Liaoning University’s beautiful campus environment and well-equipped facilities left a deep impression. As Singapore University of Social Sciences moves to a new campus in the future, he welcomed teachers and students from Liaoning University to visit and study at the university.

Director Han Dongmei congratulated Liaoning University and Singapore University of Social Sciences on signing the inter-institutional cooperation agreement. She noted that Liaoning Province is a province with rich educational resources covering universities, middle schools and primary schools, and it attaches great importance to the educational opening-up. She further noted that Singaporean universities had already achieved certain results in joint talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation with some local universities and research institutes in Liaoning Province. She expressed her expectation that in the future, Singaporean universities and Liaoning’s universities would maintain frequent exchanges in student visits, faculty exchanges, scientific research cooperation and international conferences so as to achieve more fruitful results.

Vice President Jia Guifen expressed her respect for the visit of the Singapore University of Social Sciences delegation to Liaoning and her gratitude for the opportunity to enhance the understanding of Liaoning’s educational situation and Liaoning University’s development. She noted that Liaoning University has a long history and profound heritage and there is huge potential and broad prospects for cooperation between local universities in Liaoning and Singapore University of Social Sciences. First, the two sides share highly consistent educational visions. Singapore University of Social Sciences pioneered an application-oriented education model, which aligns with Liaoning’s universities’ commitment to integrating industry and education to cultivate high-quality application-based talent. Second, there are complementary disciplinary strengths. Singapore University of Social Sciences excels in social sciences, management, finance, etc., while Liaoning’s universities have solid foundations and distinct advantages in equipment manufacturing, information technology, Northeast Asian studies and other fields. Third, overlapping development opportunities exist. Liaoning is in the critical period of the three-year action for comprehensive revitalization and new breakthroughs, and this year marks the China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges, which injects strong momentum into educational cooperation between China and Singapore. She expressed the expectation that Singapore University of Social Sciences and Liaoning’s universities, especially Liaoning University, would further deepen inter-institutional cooperation, unblock student exchange channels and jointly cultivate professional talent urgently needed for industrial upgrading and social development.
The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as joint undergraduate talent cultivation and joint master’s training.
