Delegation from Northeastern Illinois University Visits Office of International Affairs of Liaoning University

On June 21, 2025, a delegation from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), USA visited Liaoning University. The delegation included Cris Ellen Toffolo, Director of Office of International Affairs, administrative officer Jennifer G Lasko and academic staff member Shencheng Xu. They were accompanied by Jiao Dongming, Director of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs of the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

 

 

Xie Mingyi, Director of the Office of International Affairs of Liaoning University met with the guests and held a meeting. She warmly welcomed the NEIU delegation and introduced Liaoning University’s history, schools and programs, teaching team and international exchanges and cooperation. She highlighted Liaoning University’s longstanding partnerships with American universities and recent achievements in joint talent cultivation, international conferences and expert lectures. She expressed her hope that with support from the Liaoning Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the two universities would explore more opportunities to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries.

Cris Ellen Toffolo thanked Liaoning University for its hospitality and shared NEIU’s history, colleges and majors for students, joint talent programs, student internships and international collaborations. She noted that NEIU is located in Chicago, Illinois’ largest city, known for its multicultural environment and safe, comfortable campus. She emphasized that the university fosters a “small yet delicate” environment for talent development, ensuring effective faculty-student collaboration. She expressed her eagerness to explore cooperative opportunities with Liaoning University in areas of shared interests to advance both institutions.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on faculty exchanges, student summer camps, international conferences, research collaboration and joint talent cultivation programs.
