On July 1, 2025, the Economic Symposium of the China Democratic National Construction Association (CDNCA) was held in Beijing. Hao Mingjin, Chairperson of the CDNCA, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Executive Vice Chairperson Qin Boyong and attended by Vice Chairperson Sun Dongsheng.

Hao Mingjin emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Economy, with a solid grasp of its core principles, essential meaning, and practical requirements. He called for stronger political commitment to serving the overall leadership of the Communist Party of China and the central tasks of the country, and for making sustained contributions to advancing Chinese modernization through high-quality development.

He stressed the importance of accurately analyzing and understanding the current economic situation, and aligning thoughts and actions with the CPC Central Committee’s scientific assessments and strategic judgments. He urged full implementation of the major decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, solid performance in carrying out economic work, and unrelenting efforts to achieve the goals of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the development targets set for this year.

Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Hao underscored the importance of organizing in-depth research within and beyond the association to gain a comprehensive understanding of domestic and international circumstances, identify key strategic issues, and clarify major socio-economic goals and priorities, so as to provide high-quality references for formulating the next five-year plan. He also highlighted the need to make full use of the ongoing thematic education campaign on “studying regulations, strengthening conduct, and upholding a good image” to further improve research and investigation capabilities with greater rigour. By producing more substantial outcomes, the association will better fulfil its responsibilities and contribute proactively to policy research and advisory services.

Qin Boyong noted that participating experts and scholars had delivered insightful presentations focusing on key issues related to economic, social and scientific-technological development. Drawing on their respective research areas and practical experience, their contributions demonstrated both theoretical depth and practical relevance, combining overall strategic thinking with specific analysis. These inputs, she remarked, had provided important references for the future work of the CDNCA Central Committee.

She emphasized the need to systematically consolidate both the discussions and written submissions from the symposium to formulate high-quality policy recommendations. Such efforts, Qin stated, would contribute to the full preparation of the CDNCA leadership for participation in high-level political consultation.
