On October 15, the Opening Ceremony of the 13th “Ginkgo Altar Music House” Ginkgo Festival of Liaoning University (LNU) was held at Chongshan Campus. Pan Yishan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. University leaders Zhang Hongxin and Wang Peng were also present. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wu Jilong, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Department of Publicity.

In his speech, Pan Yishan pointed out that over the years, LNU has been deeply committed to fostering a culture-oriented education environment. It has nourished the hearts and minds of teachers and students with the beauty of humanity, campus environment, and great passion. The ginkgo forest that has taken root and thrived on this fertile ground has witnessed the development and changes of LNU, guarded the youthful dreams of students, and more importantly, nurtured the temperament and character of LNUers—characterized by “red genes, the sense of responsibility as a ‘eldest son’ (of the nation), inclusiveness and openness, and diligence and self-reliance”. It has become a unique and touching scenic spot on the campus of LNU.

He emphasized that the university attaches great importance to the development of the university. Adhering to the concept of “stepping out of the campus, stepping into the local communities and stepping up to a higher level and the real-scenario based mechanism of integrating talent cultivation, scientific research and social services together, it works hard towards an excellent, innovative, vibrant, happy and thriving campus with integrity.. In particular, in May this year, the university was honored with the title of “National Civilized Campus” at the 3rd session. This great honor is the crystallization of generations of LNU people who have fostered sincere feelings, dedicated themselves to self-improvement, cultivated profound heritage, and united as one for development. It marks a new breakthrough and a new level achieved by Liaoning University in cultural promotion and civilization development. He hoped that all teachers, students, and staff of the university would take this as an opportunity to fill Liaoning University with the atmosphere of civilization, make the cultural ecology take root, and let the cultural events of LNU, represented by the Ginkgo Festival, bloom brilliantly across the Liaoning region.

As one of the themed activities of “Love My Liaoning University” focusing on science, technology, culture, sports and art, the “Ginkgo Altar Music House” Ginkgo Festival has been deeply integrated into the campus life of teachers and students of Liaoning University, and has become an important window and cultural link to showcase the image of Liaoning University and inherit the temperament of Liaoning University.
