On October 24, the signing ceremony between Liaoning University (LNU) and the Korea Trade Research Association (KTRA) was successfully held in the administrative building at Puhe Campus. The event was attended by Professor Youngtae Park, President of the Korea Trade Research Association, as well as representatives from Chungnam National University, Chung-Ang University, Sejong University, and Kyonggi University. With this agreement, the Korea Trade Research Association becomes Liaoning University’s 172nd international partner.

The KTRA is a nationwide academic organization in Korea dedicated to the study of international trade theory and policy. Headquartered in Seoul, the association is committed to advancing academic research in areas such as trade-related theory and policy, international economics, international management, international business, e-trade, and overseas regional studies. It actively promotes policy recommendations and industry-academia collaboration. The English-language journal it publishes, the Journal of Korea Trade, has been indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) since 2007, reflecting its significant international academic influence.
The signing took place during the Chinese-Korean academic conference titled “New Challenges of Globalization and the Future of International Trade,” hosted by LNU, demonstrating the practical and efficient collaborative spirit of both parties. This milestone marks a new beginning for the two sides to deepen academic cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), global supply chains, and digital trade. They plan to jointly organize seminars and research projects, promote the production and international dissemination of high-quality academic achievements, and provide a new platform for universities and academic institutions from China and Korea to showcase their collaborative outcomes on the international stage.
Representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the Division of Economics, and related schools of LNU attended the signing ceremony.
