Held in Dalian from October 25 to 26, the 2025 National College Russian Language Competition was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and undertaken by Dalian University of Foreign Languages. Pan Ling from the Russian Department of the School of Foreign Languages of Liaoning University won the national third prize in the postgraduate group and successfully obtained the qualification for government-sponsored study abroad by the Ministry of Education. Ding Meilin won the Excellence Award in the junior group.

As an institutionalized program within the framework of cultural and people-to-people cooperation between China and Russia, the National College Russian Language Competition has been successfully held 17 times since its founding in 2008. It is the most influential and widely recognized national-level event in China's Russian language major field. The competition consists of three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final, with links including written test, themed speech, impromptu presentation, and Russian-Chinese mutual translation. It comprehensively assesses contestants' Russian language skills, reserve of cultural knowledge about China and Russia, as well as their ability to tell Chinese stories in Russian. A total of 416 contestants from 163 universities across the country participated in this year’s competition. Under the careful guidance of their supervisors Wang Jinghui and Liu Yanchun, students Pan Ling and Ding Meilin studied diligently and prepared for the competition earnestly. They finally stood out with their solid professional foundation and outstanding performance.
