From October 31 to November 3, the final round of the 19th “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition was held at Nanjing University. In this edition of the competition, our university won six national awards, including one first prize and four third prizes in the main contest, as well as one second prize in the main arena of the biomedical field in the “Task List” special track.

The “Challenge Cup” is one of the most influential scientific and technological innovation competitions for college students in China, renowned as the “Olympics” of contemporary student innovation. This year’s competition, organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, All-China Students’ Federation, and Jiangsu Provincial Government, was held under the theme “Youth Shouldering the Responsibility for Chinese Modernization.” It featured a main contest, special tracks such as “Task List” and “AI+,” as well as project matchmaking and transformation sessions. The event attracted over 400,000 entries from more than 3 million students across 2,700 universities nationwide. A total of 96 grand prizes, 187 first prizes, 369 second prizes, and 993 third prizes were awarded in the main contest.
