LNU Delegation Attends the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference

From November 14 to 16, the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was held in Beijing. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Education of China and co-organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), the Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF), and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching (ISCLT). Prior to the opening of the conference, President Xi Jinping sent a reply letter to young sinologists invited to attend, encouraging them to serve as envoys promoting mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign civilizations. The theme of this year’s conference is “Innovation-Driven, Empowered by Digital Intelligence — Bringing Chinese to Zero Distance.” Vice President Huo Chunhui led the LNU delegation to attend the conference.

 

 


On November 15, a special session titled “Inheritance and Development of Confucius Institutes — Stepping into the Next 20 Years” was held in Beijing, during which the unveiling ceremony of the Global Alliance of Agriculture-Focused Confucius Institutes took place. The Confucius Institute at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (UCAD), jointly established by LNU, was officially admitted to the Alliance. Vice President Huo Chunhui and Vice President Seyra of UCAD jointly received the Alliance plaque. During the same session, LNU and UCAD convened the Confucius Institute Board of Directors meeting and held in-depth discussions on renewing the cooperation agreement for the Confucius Institute.

 

 


During the World Chinese Language Conference, the 2025 Liaoning Province Alliance of Confucius Institute Partner Universities Meeting and Liaoning International Chinese Education Coordination and Exchange Conference were held concurrently. Attendees included Zhao Lingshan, Secretary-General of the Chinese International Education Foundation; Zhou Hui, Director of the Development Planning Division of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Ministry of Education; and Kong Feng, Deputy Director-General of the Educational Department of Liaoning Province.

 

 


Vice President Huo Chunhui delivered a speech at the conference, in which he reviewed the progress of international Chinese education and the development of Confucius Institutes at LNU. He also presented the University’s work initiatives in five key areas: precise positioning, brand building, media synergy, platform innovation, and resource integration.

 

 


Participants included Vadim Zakharov, Rector of Ufa University of Science and Technology; Denis Aksenov-Gribanov (Vice Rector) and Iuliia Elokhina (Director of the International Affairs Office) from Irkutsk State University; Maguette Sylla, Vice President of Cheikh Anta Diop University; Lamine Ndiaye, Foreign Co-Director of the Confucius Institute; as well as leaders and staff from the Liaoning University Office of International Affairs, the Institute of International Education, and the Confucius Institute Affairs Office.
