Recently, the 23rd “Lee and Li Cup” National University Moot Court Competition was held at Tsinghua University. The team from Liaoning University (LNU) demonstrated excellent pressure resistance and competitive strength in four intense matches over two days. Eventually, student Yan Zijin won the title of “Distinguished Oralist” at the 23rd “Lee and Li Cup” National University Moot Court Competition.

The Liaoning University team was guided by three teachers from the Law School: Cao Jinqiu, Guo Jinliang, and Wang Yang, with teacher Sun Dan serving as the team leader. Li Jiale (Grade 2022) acted as the team captain, and seven students—Yan Zijin, Jin Zeling, Song Zhiyi, Yang Yiting, Zheng Yixuan (all Grade 2023), Xu Yueying, and Xiong Qianlu (both Grade 2024)—were team members.

Sponsored by the School of Law at Tsinghua University and co-organized by the Lee and Li Foundation and Lee and Li Attorneys-at-Law (Taiwan), the “Lee and Li Cup” National University Moot Court Competition attracts top law school teams from prestigious universities across the country each year. The judges consist of senior legal scholars and practical experts. Since its establishment in 2003, the competition has become the largest academic event in China’s legal field, with the widest participation of universities and the strongest industry influence, adopting a strict selection and elimination mechanism. Liaoning University has consistently received direct invitations to the competition due to its stable and outstanding performance since its first participation, maintaining a prominent position among the participating teams.

Representatives from 40 renowned universities nationwide participated in this year’s competition, including Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, Jilin University, and Liaoning University.
