On December 13, the annual meeting of the China University Presses Association (CUPA) was held in Hangzhou. The inaugural “Excellent University Press Book” public recommendation campaign was launched during the conference, selecting one hundred “Excellent University Press Books” for the year 2025. The book, The New Development Philosophy: The Foundation of Chinese Modernization, authored by Yu Miaojie, was among the honored selections. Published by Liaoning University Press, the book previously earned a place on the “Excellent Books of Liaoning” list for the second quarter of 2025, and the August 2025 Best-Selling Books Chart of China Press, Publications, Radio, Film and Television Journal.
The book is a collection of the latest discussions, commentaries, and interviews by Professor Yu Miaojie, who is a Fellow of the United Nations’ International Economics Association (IEA) and currently serves as the President of Liaoning University.
The work systematically explains the core issues and strategic pathways for China’s economic transformation during the high-quality development stage. It deeply analyzes China’s practices and theoretical innovations under the framework of the New Development Philosophy.
