On December 5, the final of the 3rd National College Student Career Planning Competition at Liaoning University (LNU) was successfully held at the Puhe Campus. Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, attended the award ceremony and delivered a speech. Zhang Hao, Director of the College Students Department of the Provincial Department of Education, was also in attendance to observe the competition. The judging panel comprised experts from provincial universities, key university-enterprise partner units, and heads of relevant university departments.

In his address, Zhang Hongxin noted that the contestants demonstrated keen self-awareness, conducted in-depth environmental analyses, and presented well-structured career paths with confidence. He remarked that their performance perfectly embodied the spirit of LNU students: ambitious, practical, and courageous in pursuing their dreams. Zhang emphasized that the university remains committed to a student-centered approach, prioritizing the promotion of high-quality employment for its graduates. He highlighted that the record-breaking participation and the excellence of the entries reflect the university’s effective employment education. Leveraging the National College Student Career Planning Competition as a catalyst, LNU will continue to integrate internal and external resources, refine career guidance, and foster a campus culture focused on future planning, providing a broader stage for every student's growth and success.

Since the launch of the competition, 13,103 students from 29 training units across the university have registered to participate, including 9,954 in the Growth Track and 3,149 in the Employment Track. Following preliminary selection at the college level, 248 contestants advanced to the university semi-finals, with 58 ultimately reaching the final. The final was divided into three categories: the Growth Track, the Undergraduate Group of the Employment Track, and the Postgraduate Group of the Employment Track. Through thematic presentations and interactive Q&A sessions, the competition comprehensively tested the students’ career vision and employability. In the end, 12 contestants including Chen Yu from the School of Finance and Trade won Gold Awards in the Growth Track; 2 contestants including Ye Junmeng from the School of Economics won Gold Awards in the Undergraduate Group of the Employment Track; and 8 contestants including Wang Xinyuan from the Law School won Gold Awards in the Postgraduate Group of the Employment Track. Furthermore, 19 contestants including Xu Yuanlan from the School of Pharmacy won Silver Awards in the Growth Track; 3 contestants including Cui Ying from the School of Chemistry won Silver Awards in the Undergraduate Group of the Employment Track; and 14 contestants including Hou Siliang from the School of Philosophy won Silver Awards in the Postgraduate Group of the Employment Track.

During the competition, the university organized various supporting activities such as employment guidance, curriculum seminars, and university-enterprise networking events. These included a double-selection recruitment fair following the national examinations and a paid internship fair for the winter vacation, actively promoting the integration of career education and employment services with social resources. Moving forward, the university will continue to develop the competition into a "major classroom" for career education, a "major platform" for talent supply and demand, and a "major market" for employment services. By promoting learning, teaching, and employment through competition, LNU aims to further ensure the high-quality and full employment of its graduates.
