Recently, Liaoning University’s Chinese Language Performance Competition was held at the Chongshan Campus. As a grand cultural event for international students across the university and a concentrated showcase of the Chinese language teaching achievements of the Institute of International Education, the competition attracted more than 100 international students from 17 countries. Hailing from 16 different colleges within the university, they competed on the same stage through 32 programs such as speeches, songs, short plays, and dubbing, winning waves of applause from the audience and vividly depicting a magnificent picture of exchanges and mutual learning among diverse civilizations.
The competition featured a professional jury composed of renowned media experts and on-campus specialists. The jury included representatives from China Daily, Liaoning Daily, People’s Network, Ta Kung Pao, as well as from Liaoning University’s Publicity Department of the Party Committee, Graduate School, Office of International Affairs, Committee of the Communist Youth League, Service Support Center, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The judges conducted comprehensive evaluations based on such dimensions as language expression, performance content, creative presentation, stage presence, and stage effects.
After fierce competition, two first prizes, six second prizes, 10 third prizes, and 14 excellence awards were ultimately selected, along with one award each for Best Stage Presence, Best Performance, Best Eloquence, and Best Creativity.
All faculty and staff participated in this grand event, jointly witnessing the remarkable achievements of international students in Chinese language learning and the dissemination of Chinese culture. The entire competition not only demonstrated the outstanding Chinese language proficiency and artistic talents of international students but also built a bridge for cross-cultural communication with Chinese as the link, highlighting Liaoning University’s open and inclusive international educational environment.
