2025 International Industry-Education-Research-Application Cooperation Conference Successfully Held

From December 19 to 21, the 2025 International Industry-Education-Research-Application Cooperation Conference (Northeast China’s Three Provinces and One Region) – Seminar on Mine Geological Hazard Control and Ecological Environment Restoration & Northern Environment Forum was successfully held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The conference was co-hosted by Liaoning University and Liaoning Environmental Science Society, and jointly undertaken by the School of Environment of Liaoning University, the School of Environment of Shenyang University, and the International Institute of Urban, Energy and Environmental Engineering of Liaoning University. Ji Hongtao, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, and Pan Yishan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Huo Chunhui, Vice President of Liaoning University and Chairman of Liaoning Environmental Science Society, presided over the opening ceremony.

 

   

 

Focusing on the theme of “Addressing bottleneck issues and promoting the efficient development of industry-education-research integration”, Ji Hongtao emphasized that the power of education and science and technology is the core driving force for the region to break through development bottlenecks and achieve transformation and upgrading. It is necessary not only to promote the cross-border integration of cutting-edge technologies and contribute new ideas and solutions to regional mine geological hazard prevention and control, but also to deepen the collaborative linkage of industry, universities, research and application to help improve the quality and efficiency of related discipline construction and talent training. He hoped that universities would continue to consolidate the foundation of key disciplines, scientific research platforms and talent teams, and strive to build a sound ecology of discipline leadership, talent aggregation, and mutual promotion of teaching and research.

 

   

 

Pan Yishan pointed out that mine geological hazard control and ecological environment restoration are key links in promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China and implementing the path of green and low-carbon development, which are crucial to regional ecological security and long-term development. As a university under the “Double First-Class” initiative and affiliated under the Liaoning Educational Department, Liaoning University adheres to the “Three Goes” strategy, and has built distinctive disciplinary advantages and innovation platforms in related research fields. This conference has built a high-level bridge for collaborative innovation, which will promote governments, universities, industries and enterprises to break cooperation barriers and realize the in-depth integration of innovation chains, industrial chains and talent chains.

 

   

 

At the report session, experts including Professor Hu Zhenqi from China University of Mining and Technology and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wang Fawu from Tongji University and Foreign Academician of the Japan Academy of Engineering, Professor Zhou Weisheng from Ritsumeikan University and Foreign Academician of the Japan Academy of Engineering, and Dr. Jin Yuequn, CEO of Texas Golden Stone Environmental Protection Company in the United States, shared the latest research results and engineering practices in the fields of mine ecological restoration, geological hazard detection, global carbon neutrality trends and countermeasures at home and abroad, contributing wisdom to solving problems in the field of mine ecological restoration.    

The forum set up 40 academic reports. All parties conducted in-depth discussions on cutting-edge directions such as intelligent monitoring and early warning of geological hazards, ecological environment restoration technology, solid waste resource utilization, integrated application of intelligent technology, and systematic carbon neutrality governance model, demonstrating the international perspective of the conference and the characteristics of in-depth integration of industry, universities, research and application.    

A signing ceremony for industry-education-research-application cooperation was held at the conference site. The School of Environment of Liaoning University and Xinjiang Dingfeiyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., as well as Liaoning Environmental Science Society and Fuxin Ecological Environment Governance and Development Co., Ltd., reached cooperation consensus to jointly explore new paths for technology transformation and practical application. In addition, the conference specially set up a session for releasing real enterprise problems to promote the accurate connection between scientific research forces and practical needs, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into real productive forces.    

The forum attracted more than 230 representatives from nearly 40 well-known domestic and foreign universities and enterprises, including Tongji University, Jilin University, Dalian University of Technology, Northeastern University, Liaoning University, and Texas Golden Stone Environmental Protection Company in the United States.
