On April 26, the 2026 Liaoning Provincial University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition concluded successfully. Boasting solid teaching fundamentals, distinctive innovative features and outstanding education outcomes, Liaoning University (LNU)’s faculty teams stood out among participating teams from universities across the province. They won 1 Special Prize, 6 First Prizes, 1 Second Prize and 5 Excellence Awards. The teams have also qualified for the national competition. Both the total number of awards and the award levels have reached a record high since LNU first participated in the event. This fully demonstrates the strong strength of the university in undergraduate teaching reform and teachers’ teaching innovation capacity.

The final of the 2026 Liaoning Provincial University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition selected a total of 133 teachers from across the province as finalists, with nine competition tracks set up: Emerging Engineering, Emerging Liberal Arts, Emerging Agriculture, Emerging Medicine, Basic Courses, Curriculum Ideology and Politics, Industry-Education Integration, Artificial Intelligence, and Experimental Teaching.
In this provincial competition, teachers from our university achieved outstanding results across all nine competition tracks, fully embodying the dedication to teaching and educating students as well as the courage to pursue reform and innovation among faculty members of LNU. The Special Prize project has successfully qualified for the National University Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition. Meanwhile, the number of projects winning the First Prize, Second Prize and Excellence Award has hit a new record, forming a multi-level and wide-ranging award layout. This is a concentrated reflection of the university’s long-standing adherence to the central position of talent cultivation and its continuous advancement of teaching innovation.

In recent years, LNU has pursued an integrated educational philosophy that integrates education, science and technology, and talent cultivation driven by real-world social problems. University leaders regularly attend and inspect classroom teaching, the teaching supervision panel conducts rigorous lesson evaluation, and the Academic Affairs Office carries out student learning surveys and teaching evaluations at both the mid-term and end-of-term stages. Closely following the competition’s evaluation criteria and the characteristics of each track, the university has provided targeted, categorized refinement and personalized support for participating teachers. Focusing on key competition preparation links including innovation achievement reports, classroom teaching recordings and on-site presentations, it has built platforms for professional training and regular academic exchanges. A series of events have been held successively, such as special lectures on the Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition, themed seminars on curriculum ideological and political education, and teaching innovation workshops. Invited provincial and national competition judges and award-winning renowned teachers have delivered targeted guidance. LNU encourages all teachers to root themselves in professional teaching and devote themselves to classroom innovation, promoting the in-depth integration of curriculum ideological and political education, industry-education integration, the construction of the “Four Emerging Disciplines”, and classroom teaching. It strives to solve bottlenecks in teaching and improve the effectiveness of talent cultivation. By empowering teaching through competitions and inspiring enthusiasm through exemplary models, the university has fostered a campus atmosphere that values teaching, embraces innovation and pursues excellence in education, laying a solid foundation for teachers’ competition preparation and participation.
