On June 27, the 2026, the commencement and degree conferral ceremony of Liaoning University (LNU ) was successfully held at Puhe Campus.

Yu Miaojie delivered an address at the commencement. His speech, themed “Small Acts Shape a Righteous and Boundless Life”, shared heartfelt words of encouragement with all graduates. He urged them to embrace bold ambition to forge ahead and shoulder responsibilities, while also cultivating an open-minded attitude toward life’s ups and downs. Stay true to your inner self, conduct yourselves with integrity, walk through life with poise, and carve out a broad path that belongs solely to you.

He called on graduates to live with gratitude to the institution that they have received from. Young people are born with lofty aspirations, yet scholars ought to stay humble when stepping into the world. Wherever life takes you, the trust, care and support offered by your organizations, platforms, relatives and friends constitute the most precious wealth you will ever possess. He advised graduates to cherish every bond and remain thankful at all times, repay all expectations with down-to-earth efforts, and live up to every ounce of trust through unwavering commitment.

He urged graduates to view personal gains and setbacks with equanimity. As an ancient saying goes, “Those who achieved great feats in ancient times possessed not only extraordinary talent, but also unyielding perseverance.” In times of prosperity, stay alert to hidden risks and never forget where you came from amid fleeting successes; in adversity, keep your composure and never lose your integrity amid hardships. He told graduates not to obsess over social status and material gains. As a line of verse puts it, “A humble low house can embrace the bright moon; a towering mansion stays free of mortal dust.”

He asked graduates to uphold Party discipline and national laws with reverence. Reverence means sincere respect deep in the heart, while restraint means disciplined words and deeds. How far a person can travel in life hinges not merely on their capabilities, but more on the self-discipline and high standards they set for themselves. He encouraged them to practice prudence at the very start of every undertaking, in trivial matters, when alone, when holding power, and when choosing friends. If you hold reverence in your heart, you shall fear no hardship; if your conduct never crosses the line, the whole world shall be yours to traverse.

To travel far, start from near; march steadfast without weariness.

Mountains and seas have bounds, yet friendship knows no frontier.

To the Class of 2026 graduates:

May you always stay sober-minded in every small deed,

And stride toward a vast, righteous world.

Your alma mater is where your youth set sail,

And a safe harbor you may return to at any hour.

The evening breeze off Puhe, crescent moon over Chongshan, morning glow at Wusheng

Shall watch over you forever.

From here, you spread your wings and soar thousands of miles.

As you forge ahead amid mountains and seas with unremitting striving,

Bear always in mind the earnest expectations of your alma mater.
