On July 9, Liaoning University held its 2026 End-of-Spring-Semester Cadres Conference at the Puhe Campus. Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the University, attended the conference and delivered a comprehensive review of the university’s work over the spring semester, and outlined key tasks for the summer vacation and the beginning of the fall semester. The conference was presided over by Zhang Hongxin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the university.

President Yu centered his address on staying grounded, reviewing the university’s work over the spring semester through three dimensions: grounded thinking, grounded action, and grounded results. He noted that over the past six months, guided by a clear understanding of good performance, the University CPC Committee had made solid progress in Party-building guidance, secured genuine effectiveness in ideological and political education, delivered concrete achievements in talent cultivation, laid stronger foundations for discipline development, built robust capacity in scientific research, made practical contributions through social service, produced substantial outcomes in faculty development, set a substantive agenda for international exchange, fostered a campus culture grounded in pragmatism and sincerity, and put in place service and support that demonstrated genuine care and real results. Every endeavor, he concluded, was substantive and produced real impact. President Yu stressed that these gains were earned through the unity and hard work of the entire university and must be cherished and further consolidated. He expressed his hope that everyone across all departments and units would make the most of the summer vacation, plan key priorities, clear bottlenecks and resolve sticking points, and build strong momentum for a successful start to the new semester.
President Yu outlined four requirements for the summer vacation and the beginning of the fall semester. First, in close alignment with the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the university must deepen Party-building efforts to enhance quality and empowerment so that high-quality Party building guides the university’s high-quality development. Second, the university must place strong emphasis on the cultivation of teacher ethics, reinforce the fundamental basis of nurturing talent and personal integrity, and carry out centralized training for all faculty members during the summer vacation. Third, all departments must follow through solidly on routine work, guard against any tendency to let up or lose momentum, and advance all tasks in a well-coordinated manner to keep the new semester improved steadily. With particular regard to the endeavors known as “implementing major national strategies, enhancing security capacity in key areas, and carrying out large-scale equipment upgrades and consumer goods trade-in programs”, all units must elevate their political awareness, advance projects effectively, and fulfill responsibilities thoroughly. Fourth, the university must strictly uphold the bottom line of campus safety, jointly foster a secure environment for education, and make every effort to safeguard campus security and stability throughout the summer vacation. He called upon all Party cadres to internalize and put into practice “the aspiration of loyalty, the heart of gratitude, the soul of reverence, a composed and steady mind, and the momentum to strive and advance” to answer the call of the times with solid work and tangible outcomes, to transform the established blueprint into a lived reality step by step, and to strive vigorously to write a brand-new chapter for our world-class discipline construction university.
While presiding over the conference, Zhang Hongxin put forward specific requirements for the thorough implementation of the spirit of the conference. He stressed that all units across the university should systematically review task lists item by item, and draw up concrete implementation plans. Goals and tasks should be broken down to the department level, specified for each project, assigned to each position, and made measurable for each individual, forming an interlocking chain of accountability. Leading cadres must lead by example and personally steer efforts on the ground, and then turn the blueprint outlined at this conference into something concrete and deliverable, and turn the spirit of the conference into real, tangible work results.
University leaders, members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee, assistant presidents, and all cadres at or above the associate department level attended this conference.
