LNU Marks 42nd Teachers’ Day with 2026 Retirement and New-Teacher Oath Ceremonies

On the afternoon of September 10, Liaoning University held its 42nd Teachers’ Day celebration and commendation conference, together with the 2026 ceremony for retired teachers and the oath-taking ceremony for newly recruited teachers, at the Puhe Campus. The conference was themed “Vigorously Carry Forward the Spirit of Educators and Jointly Foster a Culture of Respecting Teachers and Valuing Education.” Qiu Huanguang, Secretary of the LNU Party Committee, attended and delivered a speech. Yu Miaojie, Deputy Secretary of the LNU Party Committee and President of LNU, presided over the conference. University leaders Zhang Hongxin, Huo Chunhui, Wang Peng, Lu Hui, and Lu Anhui attended the conference.



On behalf of the LNU Party Committee, Qiu Huanguang extended holiday greetings to all faculty and staff, congratulated the honored, paid tribute to retired teachers and welcomed new teachers. He reviewed the university’s fruitful achievements over the past year in Party building, talent cultivation, discipline development, scientific research innovation, faculty development and campus services, and spoke highly of the hard work and outstanding contributions of all faculty and staff. He paid heartfelt tribute to the retired teachers for their noble spirit of staying rooted in the classroom for decades, dedicating themselves quietly and devoting themselves wholeheartedly to the cause of education. He emphasized that LNU should vigorously carry forward the spirit of educators, keep consolidating the foundation of teachers’ ethics building, improve the systems for teacher training, incentives and service support, build platforms for teachers’ growth and development, and address the pressing difficulties and concerns of faculty and staff with care and dedication. He put forward four expectations for all faculty and staff: to remain true to the original aspiration of education and be guides with firm conviction; to focus on their primary responsibilities and be professional teachers; to uphold fundamental principles, break new ground and be dream chasers advancing with the times; and to act with dedication and responsibility and be strivers serving revitalization. He called on them to fulfill their duties at their posts and contribute fully to the university’s “Double First-Class” development and Liaoning’s comprehensive revitalization. He also encouraged the new teachers to foster deep love for LNU and bravely shoulder the mission of educating people, and urged all faculty and staff to emulate good examples, forge ahead with determination, and write a new chapter in the university’s high-quality development.



While presiding over the conference, Yu Miaojie pointed out that all faculty and staff should turn the strength of role models into momentum for practical work, continue to carry forward the fine tradition of respecting teachers and valuing education, and remain devoted to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. He called on them to constantly improve the quality and efficiency of talent cultivation, scientific research innovation and social services, pool their strength and work with dedication and pragmatism, and advance the high-quality development of all university undertakings with a more vigorous spirit, contributing LNU’s wisdom and strength to building China into a leading country in education and to the revitalization of Liaoning.



At the conference, LNU leaders announced the list of honored recipients and retired teachers, and presented awards to the honored departments and individuals. Hou Xiaoxu, Wang Yawen and Li Huan spoke as representatives of LNU’s outstanding teachers, retired teachers and new teachers respectively.



All officers at the deputy level or above, representatives of retired teachers and new teachers, honored departments and individuals, and student representatives attended the conference.
