Hongzhong Liu is Dean and professor of School of International Studies of Liaoning University. He is Director of Research Center for the Economies and Politics of the Transitional Countries. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1999 in World Economics from Liaoning University. Since then he began to work in Liaoning University. During 1999-2003 he was a lecturer in the School of International Economics, Associate Professor in the School of International Studies of Liaoning University during 2001-2004 and Professor since 2004. He was a visiting scholar in the KDI School of Public Policy and Economics of South Korea from 2001 to 2002, in Washington University in St. Louis of USA from 2007 to 2008 and the George Washington University of USA from January to June in 2015.

His main research field is East Asian Economy. Main publications include On the Economic Transformation in East Asia (Economic and Scientific Press House, 2013), The Chaebol System in South Korea’s Catch-up Economy (Light news publisher, 2009) and On the Path of International Direct Investment in East Asia (Liaoning University Publisher, 2001).
