Prof. YE Chen under takes multiple key positions in Liaoning University. The positions are pharmaceutical researcher; director of the department of pharmacy and director of the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of School of Pharmacy; member of the Academic Degrees Committee; and director of drug design and R & D laboratory.

    He is also a special-term Professor of Liaoning He University and the deputy director of Key Laboratory of New Drug R & D of Liaoning Province.

    YE Chen, majored in Pharmacy, received B.Sc. degree in Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. After graduation in 1988, he joined Institute of Liaoning Pharmaceutical Industry Research. And moved to Liaoning University in 2005. His special expertise are research, development and management of brand new drug; and the development and registration of enterprise projects (new drug category). In addition, he is also responsible for organization and coordination of the project industrialization.

    In the same period, he also worked as a deputy general manager and division director of pharmaceutical health care products of Shenyang Eurasia Group (1995 - 2000). He also work as a deputy general manager in Shenyang Syndy Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (2001 - 2005).

    He leads a productive research group with talents from multi-discipline backgrounds, including pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics and other disciplines, as well as his own students.  His research focuses on anti-tumor and anti-resistant bacteria innovative drugs which targets at receptor, enzyme and nucleic acid. He had participated in several major national innovation of drug research. Great progress was made by design and synthesis of a series of compounds with high activity in the study of drugs such as tyrosine kinase and telomerase inhibitors. At the same time, he has also carried out me-too drug development and evaluation of drug efficacy and quality consistency. A number of invention patents were applied. The honorary title "Experts of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province" was awarded to him by the Office of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province.Apart from academic appointments, he also acts as review experts of the Ministry of Science and Technology Torch Program,Ministry of Education graduate thesis,Science and Technology of Liaoning province,Cleaner production audit of Liaoning Provincial Environmental Protection Office,Science and technology project of Shenyang,Science and Technology project of Huludao City, Liaoning Province,Science and Technology Innovation Committee of Qingdao University,"Chinese Medical Guide" magazine peer review, andNational Licensed Pharmacist.

   He had won the third prize of Progress in Science and Technology of Liaoning Provincial government, the second prize of Progress in Medical Science and Technology of Liaoning province and Achievements of Provincial and Municipal Scientific Research for three times. Sixteen new drug certificates and production approvals and one national health food certificate were granted to his researches. At the same time, he had won the majored projects of "Major New Drugs Innovation and Development" of China's 11th Five-Year Plan and 12th Five-Year Plan" and served as deputy head of the task.

    He has won the funds from National Torch Programs twice, National Science and Technology Innovation Funds twice, Chinese National Natural Science Foundations twice, three provincial projects, a number of municipal projects, and more than 30 industrial projects. He is granted 5 patents, 14 patent applications and one PCT international patent application. He is the first inventor of 10 inventions. He hold dozens of publications in the field of pharmaceutical science. In Liaoning University, he offers many graduate and undergraduate courses, including Drug Design and Development, Pharmaceutical Management and GMP, Introduction to Pharmacy and many other courses.
