SHI Qinghuan

SHI Qinghuan, a professor and PhD advisor, the Dean of History School and Director of Institution of American History Studies in Liaoning University, graduated and got a Bachelor degree and Doctor degree in history from Northeast Normal University in 1982 and in 2004 respectively. She got funds from Fulbright Program and worked on the civil service and bureaucracy of the United States in the 20th Century in Texas University at San Antonio of the United States from 2001 to 2002. She also got funds from United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia and did research on the comparative studies on bureaucracy between China and the west in Augustana College of the United State from 1997 to1998. Additionally, she got an opportunity to participate in Summer Institute on American History and Law supported by American government in Boston College from June to Aug. of 1996. She attended and presented the paper on Meeting of the OAH in Atlantic in USA in 2014.

Her teaching and research focus on modern-contemporary world history and American political system history, constitutional systems of UK and USA. She has published four books which mainly include (1)The United States Civil Service and Bureaucracy in the 20th Century; (2) Studies on the Civil Service Group in the United States. Additionally she published more than 50 articles about the United States civil service and bureaucracy, and American middle class and American constitutional system in important journals of China, such as American Studies, World History, Historiography Quarterly, Journal of Historical Science and Journal of Historical Collection. Additionally, Prof. Shi Qinghuan got some funds on philosophy and social science at national and provincial layers. Some of her publications also got prizes of scientific research both in province and school.
