WANG Depeng, a PhD in history and a professor at History School of Liaoning University, the director of China’s Liao and Jin History Association, the managing director of Liao and Jin Association of Liaoning Province, the vice-chairman of Shenyang Society of Liao History, the vice-chairman of Shenyang History Society, etc.

He is mainly engaged in the study of the Liao and Jin Dynasties, highlighted for his study on the scholar-bureaucrats of Han nationality, commercial economy, and Buddhism etc. in the Jin Dynasty. His main research achievements are as follows,

1. More than 60 papers have been published in major domestic periodicals, covering China's Borderland History and Geography Studies, The Journal of Chinese Social and Economic History, Journal of National Museum of China, Studies on the World Religions, Journal of Chinese Humanities and so on.

2. He has published 3 monographs, i.e. A Study on the Scholar-bureaucrats of Han Nationality in the Jin Dynasty, A Study of the Commercial Economy in the Jin Dynasty etc.

3. He has presided over 18 scientific research subjects, including the National Fund of Philosophy and Social Science Projects, Liaoning Province Fund of Philosophy and Social Science etc.

4. He got various kinds of awards 14 times.
