Grade: Master

First semester of academic year 2019-2020

Total course hours :32

Introduction :

Western economics is an economic paradigm established by using western linear asymmetric thinking mode, which mainly includes two parts: microeconomics and macroeconomics. Microeconomics is a science that studies the rational allocation of economic resources by households, firms and markets. Take the economic behavior of a single economic unit as the object; take the rational allocation of resources as the main problem to solve; take the price theory as the central theory; take the individual quantity analysis as the method; its basic assumption is the market clearing, the complete rationality, the sufficient information. Macroeconomics is the science of making full use of economic resources in the overall operation of the national economy. Taking the operation of the whole national economy as the object; taking the full use of resources as the main problem to solve; taking the national income decision theory as the central theory; taking the total amount analysis as the method, its basic assumption is market failure and government effectiveness. Good at quantitative analysis, in the name of "positivism" to put the positivism of economics and normative opposition, is the basic model of western economics, basic structure and basic function. Linear, abstract and one-sidedness are the basic characteristics of western economic paradigm.

V. Main observations

The expansion of human capital in higher education (direct effect) will promote regional urbanization by increasing the efficiency of modern industry and the matching employment of low-skilled labor force. The contribution of the two mechanisms to the direct effect is 58.53%, and the increase in the proportion of human capital in higher education (indirect effect) is mainly through the externality of human capital produced by the exchange of high-skilled labor force to enhance the urbanization level, and this influence mechanism is strengthened by the expansion of urban scale. The policy implication is that with the arrival of the post-industrial era, the agglomeration of human capital and its externality in higher education are becoming more and more important to the development of urbanization, and the accumulation of high human capital in the region should be strengthened by increasing investment in higher education, improving public services and deepening the reform of household registration system.
