Prof. SHEN Guohua is a second-level professor, doctoral supervisor, and is currently Dean of the College of Communication. He is also a member of the 6th Council of the Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art, executive member of the journal Chinese Television, member of the Information Standardization Branch Association under the China Association of Press Technicians, and Vice President of the Liaoning TV Artists Association. He used to be a member of the CPC Standing Committee and Vice President of Tianjin Haihe Media Group, and a member of the CPC Standing Committee and Deputy Controller of China Tianjin Radio and TV Station. He has been engaged in television and news work for over 30 years, achieved Talent Scholar Award of Distinguished Scholars in Four Fields (theory, culture and art, press, publications), the 12th Changjiang-Taofen Awards, National Outstanding Journalist, and Model Worker of Tianjin. He has been selected as Top Notch Talent of the “131 Talent Project” in Tianjin, and received special government allowances of the State Council. Television news “Headstream of the Yangtse River--Chu Er Ma River has dried up”, which was planned and edited by Prof. SHEN Guohua, achieved First Prize of the 12th China News Award. He established “China Provincial TV Stations Civic News Channel Collaboration” to promote civic news transformation. He is in charge of the “Translation and Dubbing Center for Language Exchanges of North East Asia”, which belongs to the project “the Silk Road Bridge of Films and Television” initiated by “the 14th Five-Year Plan” of the National Radio and Television Administration, and the project of “Location Search Platform for Film and Television Production in Liaoning Province”. He established “Intellisense Laboratory” to explore new path for conducting Film and Television researches in the context of indiscipline integration. Prof. SHEN Guohua has been devoted himself to promoting the improvement and remodeling of drama and film and television education in omnimedia times, in order to better combine academic knowledge with practice, and narrow the distance between industries.
