Prof. FANG Guangshun

Professor Fang Guangshun (male) was born in October 1960. He has a Ph.D in law, is a professor in the second level, and is a doctoral and postgraduate supervisor. He is currently in charge of Marxist Theory at Liaoning University. Prof. Fang has also served as director of the Department of Publicity, executive deputy director of the School of International Relations, and director and secretary of the Party General Branch of Marxist College.


Prof. Fang is an expert who receives special allowance from the State Council, as well as a member of the Sixth Consulting Committee on Policy-Making of the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and an expert in the Think Tank of Liaoning Provincial Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He was rewarded the titles National Excellent Teacher, National Excellent Teacher in Ideology and Politics, and National Excellent Expert in Social Sciences. Prof. Fang is also director of the Theory Research Association of National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, director of the Chinese Association for the History of the International Communist Movement, and director of the Marx and Engels Research Association of China.


Prof. Fang’s main research fields encompass Marxist classical literature and the progress and laws of Marxism in China. He has presided over three projects under the National Social Science Fund and more than 30 projects under the Scientific Research Fund at the provincial level. His consultation report was approved by national and provincial leaders over 10 times. Prof. Fang won the second and third prizes at the 7th and 8th Social Science Achievement Awards of the Ministry of Education, as well as nine first and second prizes at the Liaoning Social Science Achievement Awards, first special prize at the National Textbook Awards, and six prizes at the Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. He has published over 400 papers in a variety of journals, including Seeking Truth, Guangming Daily, and Marxism Research, and written more than 30 monographs and textbooks, such as Marxist Theory for Building a Harmonious World (People’s Publishing House).
